Oliver's Mount
for Grand Prix Legends
---

-HISTORY

Oliver's Mount is a 2.4-mile public roads circuit in North Yorkshire, England.  A narrow ribbon of tarmac, it snakes between exposed trees, up clutch-busting gradients, around micro-hairpins and over the notorious Jefferies Jump.  Not for the faint of heart!

F3 cars raced here in the mid-1950s, and motorcycles from 1946 to present.  Famous winners include Duke, Surtees, Hailwood, Agostini, Sheene, Dunlop, Fogarty and McGuinness.  The roads also host hill climbing and rallying.

This GPL model bypasses the Farm Bends chicane, added in 1991 shortly before start/finish.

-NOTES

* The oft-quoted track length of 2.414 miles (without Farm Bends) seems too long.  Aerial photos and telemetry suggest a length just under 2.4 miles.

* The hairpins were a clipping nightmare; some ugliness remains but is minimal if you proceed in a forward direction without making mischief ;-)

* Started: 8th June 2007

* Finished: 8th March 2014

And a low-res texture pack, ignore this unless you have performance problems

Fantastic, had a lot of holidays in North Yorkshire as a kid. We'd always have a look at the race circuit when we were there.

Great to have it in GPL, many thanks!

Edit: That run down the hill has gone from interesting to epic to terrifying as I've gone faster! Brilliant!

What a fantastic track this is. The AI likes to cause pile ups in T1, but after lap 1 it's cool. Narrow track it is. Thanks once again.

Absolutely fabulous! What a beauty this track is. Lovely folks all around the track too! :wave:
The downhill section is just breathtaking. It took me 17 tries to get the first clean lap - those hairpins are quite a challenge. :drive1:

Many thanks, I´m really enjoying this track! :thankyou:
