Hi pal´s!
Sorry, i know that is complex matter. i been researching a little bit about track editing (nothing too complex only add some trackside objects) but i can´t get the all picture.

What i need is the complete workflow (programs or plugins used) to create a simple object in 3ds MAX and put it in the track side (like a house).I only need to know which programs are necessary (since exist a lot of them) and in wich order i have to use it. Then i can do my own research of how to use every single one...

Also some days ago i was reading a great Pdf manual that came with one of this programs (i don´t remember wich :(  ) who explain how to edit and change objects and  asign texture to walls, but i lost it!!!

If some one can give me a little help with workflow...only that...i do the rest...

Thanks in advance and soory for my english!!!

My best Regards. Diego.

Wast that maybe GPL wall changer?
I don't know much on the matter but I think that to add objects you usually need the racing line program that need a special file to work on a specific track (center line) if you don't have it you need to ask in the forum for somebody that can create it.
Wall changer let you do many things that the racing line can't so I guess you need both of them to do all you want.

Exactly!
Tools used for creating a track are totally different that the ones used to edit existing tracks and I never did this, sorry.

I been reading a lot about .3do files and now i think  understand more the problem...
In first place i thought that the low poly graphics in GPL are needed because the graphic engine possibilities. Now i think that the low poly object are the result of the difficult process of made and put elaborate object in GPL.

I´m work with 3ds Max and i fin this tool to convert Ase to 3do. http://www.vanwall.e...do/ase23do.html
wich looks very usefull but...the link to the Borland´s dll are broken so don´t work at all! :(

I refuse to use a primitive tool like One-Two-3DO maybe great ten years ago but now...

If some of the user that work on objects for GPL can help me to know which tool is necessary, will be great.

Thanks anyway!

I do not know which items you want to create but remember to use less polygons as possible.
Generally when converting 3dmax to 3do polygons are then multiplied so it is NECESSARY to go to clean up the data file does not validii.
For example if you create a polygon with four vertices only after the conversions you will end probably 2 triangolari.Inoltre polygons if the polygon is extended it is possible that the polygons after the conversion are more than two.
It 's true that One-Two-3DO is old and primitive, but keep in mind that if it implements a strategy of efficient work is quite fast and can handle the problem of polygons without further conversions and corrections ..
You can also divide the object into more simple parts and assemble it in a unique object at the end.
I created all my items with this tool as vintage vehicles that you find on Targa Florio Zolder and other tracks.
In this way I was able to create objects which are detailed enough but with little weight.
Hello and good work.
