Hi, thanks for this great mod!

As a moderator of UKGPL
I have to import the -complete.txt file of GPLRA into our database after a race to show the results in the race post.

Last night I wanted to do this but the import was impossible!
There seems no car information in the GPLRA file, all cars are "unknown"...

Our database would handle any info, if there is any, to differentiate the cars.
The 69X and F2 mod do it, even with weird names, without a problem.

Do you have any idea?

Thanks

The simple answer is that the latest version of GPLRA, 7.91 beta2, does not support the CanAm71 mod or F2 mod.
It supports 69x, I've used it as Admin for this seasons GPLRACER 69x cup, so there should not be any wierd names with that mod if you use the Beta2.

Martin has been contacted by e-mail earlier this year about updates but he has not answered back.

The 7.90 version I use gives the F2 this car info:

So I thought maybe its a problem of the data given from the gplm71.exe given to the rpy file?

The Can-Am mod (gplm71.exe) is working fine. The data shown in the F2 listing above is corrupted. Although it mentions "F2" in several places, most of the car names are taken from the ThunderCars mod, and are incorrect. As stated previously, the last update to GPLRA was to give it compatibility with the 69-Extra mod. Currently it does not run with the F2 or Can-Am mods. Since the 69-Extra update, I believe Martin has been diverted by real-life issues and is, in effect, no longer updating the program. I believe some people are trying to make arrangements to get Martin to transfer the program source to someone else in the GPL community who may be able to maintain it, but progress along this path is unknown at the moment.

I will try to add a link to the relevant thread(s)/post(s) where this has been discussed, but I can't make any promises as I don't have much time for searching around SRMZ today, sorry!

Now we have managed to import the race results,
but with a lot of manual editing. -> http://www.simracing...p?topic=11191.0

We use the GPL export html file too and found:
the mod's authors didn't use unique three-letter GPL codes, so all McLarens are the same MCL and a Lola T222 or T260 is allways LOL.

The same applies to F2 mod (Lolas), Sportscars mod (Chaparrals) and also 69x where you have lots of versions. It's not a big problem if we have an up-to-date GPLRA.

In this case we have not. So after the Riverside test I decided to use the false GPLRA report and change the "Unknown" car names according to my in-game screenshot and drivers' comments.

My selfmade CA 1971 GPLRA chassis codes are
Ferrari  => Ferrari 712M
LolaT222 => Lola T222
LolaT260 => Lola T260
McLareM8 => McLaren M8B/C/E
McLarM8D => McLaren M8D
McLarM8F => McLaren M8F
Porsche  => Porsche 917/10
Shadow   => Shadow MkII

Here's the F2 list too:
BrabBT14 => Brabham BT14
BrabBT23 => Brabham BT23
Cooper   => Cooper T84
Ferrari  => Ferrari 166
LolaBMW  => Lola T100 BMW
LolaFVA  => Lola T100 FVA
Lotus41b => Lotus 41B
Lotus 48 => Lotus 48
MatraMS5 => Matra MS5
MatraMS7 => Matra MS7
McLareM4 => McLaren M4A
Protos16 => Protos 16

The UKGPL database is a perfect system that imports the complete.txt and export.html as it is in F2 and all other mods.

We just mapped the GPLRA names to the right F2 car, e.g. the "KingWing" goes to Protos 16

Yes, if GPLRA is updated there will be no problem left, but if not...

So my question still is:
What is the difference of the car data given to the replay in F2 (and all other mods) to the CanAm mod?
