Take a car with less power or try with some aids on first. And do not go full throttle at instant, build it up till you master it.

Yes, some cars have better mirror positions than others.  You might have to move the view back with GPLShift (POV) or by changing the FOV in GEM if you want to get full rear-view.

Stay on the grass..

Sry, a bottle of wine and a glass of Ron Miel is not the best base for solid advise.
Next time i'll do better..at least i'll try...

... maybe not, but one could say that the "best base" might be "staying on the 'grass'". (only if you are where its legal) ;)

martin is dutch, so it's legal, <badumm>. same precondition to my advice though - not sure on the ron miel (quick google, nah, just italian red for me here). anyway, my advice.. pick a car that is easy to handle. so that would put the porsche pretty up front. it just lacks power and is too heavy, but it's so good to drive and has a better gearbox that makes it feel faster than it turns out it is. and i believe on real twisty tracks it might have the edge because of the gearbox. the t260 is a wild car. somehow it doesn't feel as fast as the M8F for instance, but driven around laguna i was astonished to see it was my fastest car around there, by a margin. and it didn't feel that way. the M8F puts the living terror in you, everywhere. the way it takes off. it's really point and squirt. exploding on the straights, coasting through the turns. it might be a tad difficult to drive though, thanks to the power. you will probably spin a lot with it. so try offline first until you are comfy with it. i love it around lagune, getting through the curve towards the bridge... i used to go rally style through there. put a smile on my face every time - not fast, but so much fun. yes, i am a yobbo at the wheel. and i enjoy it

I think virtual mirrors night be the trick here. There's a guide for creating them in here somewhere ...

speaking of MIRRORS.... even using GplSHIFT.. and moving the 'seat' back as far as it goes, i can only see one (1) mirror. i'm using 1900x1000 (forget what the actual numbers are, but that's close) so any ideas ?  is it just me?

per Bob Simpson above, i also tried GEM FoV to 90 and it didnt' appear to help.

I use FOV of 76° and 1920 x 1080 monitor resolution and find that I can't see the left side mirror in the M8B, M8F and Porsche.  I'm not sure about the Ferrari as I use the central mirror.  That makes it unlikely that I'd use those cars in an online race.

Try the M8BCE, it's quite easy to drive round Edmonton. I'm driving St Jovite now and it doesn't feel the same but still enjoying it.

Well.... the Can-Am mod is still the most 'super' thing yet for GPL!!!

Just a few small quibbles with some graphical implementations:

There is a see-through 'hole' on one side of the rear deck of the Lola T222.

The driver's seat is still in the "centered" position, after the driver was moved to the proper right-hand side of the cockpit in the Porsche 917/10.

There are also some 'black marks' on the Porsche windscreen... and they are not upstate New York bugs!   :P

Speaking of see-through holes, there is also a small problem in the porsche cockpit:

The Porsche and Shadow where built with a center seat.Once converted someone mentioned it was mandatory for canams to have 2 seats (although the 2nd seat most of the time was very small) At that point a reconvert would have made all changes to the model vanish so we decided to leave it as it is.People mentioning the center position being off in the preview screens made us look for a quick solution to not postpone canam release. Which was re-adjusting the driver position. As a result of that the seat is still in its original position.I'm now looking at a possible solution by repositioning the seat section. Unfortunately it causes a bit of clipping with the driver(headon view) and the cockpit side (when viewed from above) So i'll have to look for a solution for that or otherwise you'll have to live with it.
