1971 Canam Mod
Posted Sep 12 2012 - 08:16 AM
McLaren M6B ( from 1968 ! )
for Ferrari 712M ( no omboard footage available, so I took a Nissan R 382 with a similar engine layout )
inboard recording starts at 7:40 !
You will find 3 different V8 sounds. They are related in a plausible order to the different engine capacities.
Two are as realistic from cockpit view as it was possible to make them for me.
One sound is recorded from a Cobra muscle car to fullfill Your expectations of huge V8 engines as good as possible.

I assume they will be adjustable. Wings have been adjustable since the first 69 mod so I dont see why they shouldn't be.
The cars look great btw. Do they share the bug with the SC where the front brakes wont release? I seem to recall someone saying its related to the heavy weight cars.

I was actually thinking you might make use of the Alcan BRM P167 I did for an extra car.
Thanks. We have more original models from different CanAm and sports car eras than we can properly finish as it is. We'll get CA71 out and go on (or back...) from there.

A massive crash occoured during a final top secret high speed test overseas at Monza, Italy, due to a mechnical failure.
Luckily the test driver got away without serious injuries.
But these cars are definitly not save and have way to much horsepower.
So, thats why we are afraid to tell you that we have to delay the release of the CanAm 71 mod........... NOT
As we know you want it fast and dangerous with way to much power you will get it.
BUT BE WARNED - THESE CARS ARE MONSTERS

Do you plan to make a 917/10 with the rear wing that began in 1972 ?

From that angle it looks like a 917/10. It has the long tail of a 917/10 anyway. I have seen that livery on a 917/10 but not the 917/30.
Regardless, it looks very cool !

The '72 917/10 CanAm was the first turbo followed by the '73 917/30 turbo.
The "Pink Pig" '71 LeMans car was called the 917/20.
