I just bought a Logitech G27, and it was manufacturer refurbished and didn't include and user manual or software. I was under the impression that I could get the user manual and software off the Logitech website. Guess not! Does anybody have either one they could send me? I have been a month without a wheel and I'm about to explode! I'm quite perturbed right now.
Thanks so much,
Sam

Did you get the CD for the software? If not you can probably D/L that from their site. It's been awhile since I had a G27, but I seem to remember the manual is on the CD. The manual just told you how to plug everything in. That should be easy to figure out.

Thanks, Phil, don't know how I missed that! And I guess if I don't need a manual like Pete indicated, never mind!
Thanks,
Sam

I concur, the manual just told you how to plug it in. The complicated part for me was to learn about the settings in the software. The important setting is the degrees of rotation. I tried different settings between 360 degrees and 540 degrees before I found just the right amount for my liking. I finally chose 360, but I'm not sure if that is really the best. It might also depend on the steering ratio set in the game. Good luck, I'm sure there is more information in this forum than the instruction manual.

You're absolutely right, Walter. And this forum has provided some very useful discussions on this topic. See, for example here

and here

With my G27, I am using 540° with steering ratio set at 9:1 or 10:1.
I can't remember what force feedback settings I'm using. That's a whole different issue, but I'm sure that a search of this forum will provide answers.

Thanks for the recommendation. I read the other thread, set the rotation to 540 and ratio to 9:1. The result was great! The car was forgiving at the limit, and I adjusted immediately. I wanted to keep driving lap after lap, it was hard to pry myself away from it.
I'm also using the gplshift with clutch and shifterr.wav sound for missing a shift. Great add on

Can't find shifterr.wav file. Where can I get it?

Try this one - or you can make your own. It just needs to be 5 or so seconds of ginding or static. Put into the main GPL folder.

Bob, it has to be 5 seconds or 5 milliseconds? That file you posted is quite short.

Hmm, you're right. I thought that it was longer, but that's the one that I use and it's quite noticeable.
It's actually taken from the Act-Labs site and just made somewhat louder if I remember right.
