Let 's suppose, as often at Le Mans, the Ferrari driver hasn 't look at his right mirror, but it can be the difference in height between the Ferrari and the Toyota that can explain he didn 't see it
Anyway, it was in front .

I remember Jo Bonnier died at Le Mans 1972 for a similar situation .He managed to go inside a Ferrari Daytona at Indianapolis corner, with the small and slick Lola T 280 .The big and heavy Ferrari driver cldn 't see him.

Lucky Davidson : 40 Years ago he wld have find  a tree forrest top instead of tyres !

well it was a slower car being lapped by a faster car and i would think - i didn't see it, that the toyota had been flashing on approaching, plus there would have had to be blue flags for the ferrari (which worked quite alright at night). to me, the ferrari just didn't pay attention. but yea, if davidson had waited until after the corner he would have easily caught the ferrari on sheer acceleration.
there were other incidents involving ferraris and prototypes... ;)

Roman,

sure the situation isn 't as simple as in the GPL scene. Apex corner was wider and the Ferrari is cuting a bit is normal racing line. And difference in speed let no room for the poor Davidson to take evasive action
