I'm fairly new to GPL (I've been running NR2003 for years, and am figuring things out fast in GPL).  But one thing I can't wrap my mind around is the whole carset deal.  I thought, for example, in the 1965/66/69 Mod Updates recently released, you could just drop the files where they belonged and you were good to go.  But I suppose that's not the case?  How do you, for example, install the non-championship 1965 race carsets?  Or any different carset?  I just don't get it.

Thank you,
Sam

Hi Sam,
For the installation of the updates You have only to copy the files in your GPL directory.
However, I've reported the correct procedure in the Readme file and in the main thread.

Ok, so to clarify, just put the specific driver.ini from the track you intend to race in the main directory, and change every time you run a different track?  And for example with the 69 high and low wing carsets that I've heard about, how do you change between them?

Sorry to seem dumb, but I'm not grasping this,
Sam

You do that with GEM+... do you have it installed?

Usially the readmes of mods and carsets explain everything step by step...

Trying to run the mods without GEM is a pain and unnecessary.

Thank you, I will look through the readme's and try to figure it out.  And for the record, I am using GEM.

Thank you very much,
Sam

Be more specific. What have you installed so far, and what are you having a hard time installing?

Carset updates only work for mods you have installed.
I'm assuming you are trying to install a carset update for a mod you already have installed?
Because a 65 carset update can only be installed when the 65mod is already installed and running.

As Pete says you need to explain what you have done so far for us to pinpoint your problem area  :)
Cheers,

Martin

Okay, I've just had a thought that may be so obvious it's sad, or I'm completely wrong.  Do the carsets (ie. 69 high/mid/low wing, 65 International Trophy, etc.) automatically run at the respective track they were intended to?  I was under the impression you had to change them manually through GEM, but is it automatic?

Thanks,
Sam

You need to change them in GEM with the 69 mod. With the 69Xtra mod they change automatically.

Thanks,
