I have a problem with GPL2AVI where the in the saved video, the scenery disappears every so often for a couple of frames.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I had this same problem, with GPL2Avi. The only way I could get around it, was to capture individual frames, then repeat the process 2 or 3 times. That way, the bad ones could be replaced, by copies made afterwards. The trouble with that is, it's hugely time consuming !
Nowadays I use FRAPS - it has the advantage of capturing both video and sound. There's a freeware version for capturing short sequences, and I'd recommend giving it a try.

a side issue:
when using camera control master, the cars skip fowards and backwards during replays.

If cars skip forward and backwards, and only with CCM, that's very strange? You could try reducing your settings, in case your System is struggling, but that's a shot in the dark. Somene who's sorted a similar scenario, could be more helpful. It's worth sorting, as there's more you can do with the program these days : http://srmz.net/inde...?showtopic=7962
