I remember I still have other old games from Microprose. I've got Grand Prix 3, which I still play pretty often. As I well I have Grand Prix 2, but it does not work perfectly on my PC. It seems people even now, in 2012, still are modding this game!!! Check out the site, last update was in January 2012!

Ah, nostalgia. It's not what it used to be.  ;)  :D

I still have a load of old Microprose stuff stored away somewhere. Must dust it off and try it out sometime.

I'm really going to show my age now, and tell you that I remember an air traffic control game called "Kennedy Approach", which was made by Microprose for the old 8-bit computers (especially the Atari 800) back in the early 1980's. It was one of the first games to feature digitised speech, you could hear the pilots replying to your control instructions. If there's one thing that comes close to the thrill of avoiding collisions on the racetrack, it's avoiding collisions between airliners in mid-air. I wish someone could do a modern-day version of that game!

Thanks for the links chaps, they look interesting, I think I might spend some time checking out the add-ons.    :clap2:

Thanks loads GrandPrixYannick  for the top link   I too have grand prix 3 and 4 and grand prix 2.What I did was to install a dos box emulator called dfend reloaded to run grand prix 2 and other old games like indycar etc.I had slow running in grand prix 2 and going into the options and lowering the frame rate seemed to do the trick!

Fantastic twinpotter! Thanks for finding and posting the links. One of the links actually points to a PC re-write of the game, so I don't even need an emulator. Amazing!  :o  :woot:
