I've made a couple more of the real programme covers for the '67 season F2 races (both non european championship but still well attended), Keimola  & Rouen, see if you like them.

EDIT:1/11/13. I have uploaded a slightly improved rouen cover, it is attached a couple of posts down from here.

Another Formula 2 non championship race due to be held at Montlhery on the 17th September, was the 'Coupes de Paris,' a longstanding annual event however, in 1967 organisation was poor it seems and the Montlhery Club ended up setting their date for the same race weekend (although different race days) as the 1967 Oulton Park Gold Cup non championship F1 race which included allowance for F2 entries. I would imagine the Gold Cup held more attraction to teams, not least because of greater prize money no doubt and perhaps just a little prestige. So the F2 Montlhery event was cancelled and rescheduled for a week earlier on the 10th September but the F2 race was subsequently replaced with an F3 entry instead although the race was still called the 'Coupes de Paris'. I happened to find the real programme cover, which is quite rare, for the rescheduled 1967 Coupes de Paris event and all I have done is changed the date from the 10th to the originally planned 17th September.

So if you'd like your 1967 F2 season to include the cancelled Montlhery F2 event you can now have a programme cover to go with it when you go racing. The Gold Cup race took place on the Saturday 16th, so we can imagine if we'd like, the guys packing up after Saturday's Cheshire race in England, hurring down to Dover to take the overnight ferry to Calais, before driving up to Paris early next morning ready to race at Montlhery.   :Meter:

I have been experimenting a bit with how to reduce the scale of the programme cover pictures before transfering them from a bitmap to pdf format using Papybmp. The covers I have posted so far are rare and hard to find and are not currently found on the Motor Racing Programme Covers Project website http://www.progcover...otor/index.html, or any others that I know of. As a result the pictures I find are usually of poor quality.

After some experimentoing my best process now is, that I start by increasing the picture of the cover to 900 pixels height with 300dpi quality resolution and then 'clean up' or iimprove the scans or pictures of the covers as best I can. In the cases of the Rouen, Jarama & Montlhery covers, it was quite a bit of work and with that they were also of low resolution to start with, so I found it difficult to create the sharpest of images. After this work I reduce the cover picture size down to 431 x 281 and then change the picture from RGB to Indexed colour mode, in photoshop, using 75% diffusion & 256 colours before saving it to an 8bit bitmap. Finally I use Papybmp to change the format from bitmap to pdf for use in GPL. Does anyone know a better way to perform this process to get the best quality possible?

Anyway here is a slightly improved Rouen cover as a result of the new reduction process I'm using.

If you are interested in having the real programmes, I improved the real programme cover for the Brands Hatch Guards Trophy for Formula 2 just a little, colour / contrast and sharpness.
