I'm going to try and make a season. I like all the tracks in the British season. Can I do it through GEM? If I pick the tracks I want and call it the British Championship. Will it come up as the Championship season, and show in best laps in GPL? I've never fooled with doing this before.

great graphics ~
really good sounds
2 questions/same area:
in car, on entering, i feel like my chest is against the dash. i have GPLshift installed, so i can adjust the setting/sitting position, but i have to do it every-time i go in car!
if i don't some cars the gearshift lever, is barely visible.
is there a way to save settings?
does FOV (default 78) have any bearing on this?
maybe running at 1900x1200 resolution is the reason?
appreciate any/all replies
but a huge thanks for the effort!

It is terrific how close you can race with these cars, well in case the others around you, know what they are doing.

you make a copy and paste your GF2, you rename it ( name with 8 characters like 1967UKF2.ini ),
you edit it with notepad, you flush and copy:

you can not put the 2 rounds at Silverstone in a row, it causes a bug
then put this new season.ini in the season folder and active it with GEM .
ATTENTION : real number of laps in MODE FORMULA 2
you just take over the accounts at the end: 9, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1, all 5 races count, (i.e you must add the times of the the 2 rounds at Silverstone )

Pete, it's easy to make a new season.ini file once you do it once or twice.
You should be able to create one using GEM+'s Season Manager mode by moving tracks from the left to the right side.
Or you can manually edit any season.ini file by cutting and pasting in the appropriate data for each track in the championship. Ed did a good job on the French Championship so you can use his .ini file or any other season.ini file as a guide.
Just remember that the F2 mod will use the season.ini file named "gF2.ini" for the championship. Also be sure to change the numEvents=XX line to equal the number of tracks.
EDIT:
Oops, I see Ed has posted good instructions too.

Good job Ed on the French Championship file and how to make a British one for Pete.
As far as the championship scoring, the physics team decided to use the original scoring system that Papy and the '67 F1 cars used which as you noted counts only a certain number of races. We didn't know for sure what scoring system the F2 cars used, but there was no way of changing it anyway other than using the '66 F1 system.

Thanks Toon,
Like I said, we weren't exactly sure which scoring system the F2 cars used in '67, but it really wasn't a big deal as we only had a choice of the '66 or '67 F1 scoring systems anyway.
As an aside, I've always wondered why Ickx didn't do better in F1. He certainly was a phenom in F2 in '67. I believe he came in 2nd in the '69 F1 championship, but his skills were so good, it's a wonder he didn't win an F1 championship at some point. Of course, he did pretty well in sports cars.
