Hello,

I've done some searching and I haven't come up with anything. Le Mans Bugatti is in serious need of new AI. There is always a pileup in Turn 1 on the first lap, and the entrance and exit of the pit lane are quite weird. Does anyone out there know of an update? Or how difficult is it to make one? I'd be interested in learning if no one is up to the challenge.

Thanks
~Jake

I've had a look on the ai files for that track but AiEdit won't let me open the track because of a problem with the trk file
If someone can fix that we can fix it.

The other option would be to use the old way of creating ai. Not my cup of tea..

Cheers,

Martin

A couple of years ago I've raced a lot at this track against ai with 65 mod cars; surely ai is not perfect there, but it's even worse at other tracks IMHO, for what is my limited experience with addon tracks. But I can remember more vices with 67 cars (including some cars not qualyfing, many violent crashes at turn 1 or 2 during 1st lap and more), that's the reason why I installed some updated .lp files in the past, for what I can remember, and also edited a bit the track.ini. I have not GPL installed in the pc I'm writing from, so I can't check atm. So in the end my question is: which carset give you more problems? Have you tried with a different one?

I have only tried the 1967 cars there. Perhaps it is possible to just edit the .ini to achieve satisfactory results, but I do not know the answer to that question. I only really have an interest in racing the 1967 cars there since it was part of there schedule. The other car sets do not interest me at this track.

Ok, so is the 67 (I'm aware of this track was part of the championship that year). I only asked for clearness, don't want to bother.

A thing is sure, AI s have been edited and corrected long ago for this track .But I haven 't it installed at the moment.

Whatever the carset you use, cars won 't crashes at Turn 1, but they will rather corner smoothly, there

I also have look on. There is problem in trk file with sections length. There are usually gaps of 2 units between end of previous section and start of next section. It seems like track was resized incorrectly. I don't have tools to fix it. And I don't want to fix 78 sections with HexEditor

So is this a lost cause? I'm assuming the complications are too much to overcome, probably why something similar hasn't been attempted before. A shame really

Perhaps the solution is there

" This was the actual track that was used for the French
Grand Prix of 1967, rather than the Rouen track, which was included with  GPL. It is quite a challenge to drive and calls on a different set of  driving skills, but once you get the hang of it, it's well worth your  time.

George M. Smiley also introduced an AI fix for qualifying at Bugatti. If you
plan on running a full race weekend, this needs to be implemented in your
Bugatti track.ini file as indicated below.

1.) Open up the Bugatti track.ini
2.) Change the value of 'pit_lane_start_dlong' to 4266.0
3.) Change the value of 'start_of_pit_stalls' to 4280.0
4.) Change the first value of 'lane_bounds_dlong' to 4266.0
5.) Save the Bugatti track.ini

This is fix for AI cars not leaving their pit stalls. This bug was in original track install.

Merci Ezechiel,

Must be the ones of Klemen Sensen and Neville Roberts, who managed a dedicated improved AI 's site for many tracks.

Many thanks for these files Ezechiel   :clap2:

I have tried these with my own track 67 file slightly modofied for the patched 67s and the results are pretty good with fewer crashes especially at La Chapelle on lap 1.

I am attaching my track67 file for anyone who wants to try it - this includes slightly amended fuel loads, changes to reduce crashes at the hairpins, and pit slots aligning with the pit buildings. I also attach the latest version of my camera file for completeness sake.
