I would love to see the 1961 season - the first season of the new 1500 cc formula - represented in GPL.

All the tracks are available.....no problem on that score.
There were only eight races:- Monaco, Dutch (Zandvoort), Belgian (Spa), French (Reims), British (Aintree), Italian (Monza banking) and USA (Watkins Glen).

There were oodles of minor entrants but the major teams/engines were Ferrari/Ferrari, Lotus/Climax, BRM/Climax, Cooper/Climax and Porsche/Porsche.
(The Climax engine used was the 4-cylinder FPF, until the last race of the season, when JB had the new FWMV V8).

We have currently available in the 1965 mod all the cars bar two - Porsche and the sharknose Tipo 156 Ferrari.
The slot taken by the Honda RA272 would become the new Porsche model and the Ferrari would also need to have a new body shape (arguably the prettiest of all the 1500 cc cars).

I think it's a shame that the Porsche and Tipo 156 have never been represented in GPL.

Me too. But in time they will. :hat-tip:
The mod group is small and dedicated but the projects are many. Here are the 62s in early early development. A blink or two and you have what you need for 61s.

Those 62's look good. I always think it would be good if GPL had a couple more F1 Mods of different years as this is where it corners the market in my opinion

Hope the Mod Team keep up the great work.

Targa has been downloaded 8000+ times, so it shows that there is a large 'silent army' of fans who will always be appreciative of the great work the Mod Team produce for this old sim.

Grand Prix Legends is a drug. And I'm an addict. Again.

Awwww darn - this is *the* mod that would just about be the crowning glory of GPL.

(In terms of it being about wingless 1960's F1 cars of course, and who wouldn't like to drive a Sharknose!)

any further news on this mod? I ask as my friend has an open wheel car that was built for the Tasman series (was built in 65 and to race that season but didn't) and it is based on the Lotus 22. Would be cool to make this car for GPL to show him.

No progress from my side on this mod (Sharknose/Porsche)
We are awaiting Keido to resurface again, he's redoing the other models based on his Tasman set.

Atm i'm flipping from one mod to another. Right now it's 35's & 55's tomorrow it could be 51's, Canam71/66, Caterham etc.. ;)
