Hi all! would like to race and practice online but can't seem to do so.When I go to race through GEM/Igor ie a newbie practice it goes to my 67 gpl menu then to multiplayer.Then it comes up with 'connecting to channel'-'then closing channel abort and client/server mismatch?.Also if I try to join the mod races like 65 or sports cars it comes up with UNABLE TO FIND MOD in Igor interface.Any help would be great as I would like to complete my GPL experience by been able to race online

"client/server mismatch" usually means that you 1) haven't applied the bandwidth patch or 2) have the wrong numbers in the core.ini which should be:
net_mdm_client_send_every = 3 ; Client packet freq on dialup
net_mdm_client_send_size = 84 ; Client packet size on dialup
net_mdm_server_send_every = 3 ; Server packet freq on dialup
net_mdm_server_send_size = 384 ; Server packet size on dialup <- this number has to be equal to or higher than the server's core.ini setting
For the "unable to find mod" problem, how did you install GPL? Do you start the offline races using GEM? Do you have gplc65.exe and gplcgt.exe in the gpl folder?

Hi Bob thanks for your reply!I am pretty sure I have applied the BANDWITH patch,
As far as the inis I will check them A.S.A.P.Regarding the offline racing for each mod I have a seperate folder on my hard drive for which I have installed in GEM with a different drivers name for each mod.Thanks again Bob and any further help would be great

Hi Bob-update-Checked ini(the one in GEM&IGOR ?)The client send every=3 &the size=84-The server send every=3 &the size=84 instead of 384.I have checked the bandwith patch and it is applied

Hi Bob thanks for your help and reply.Tried what you said but no joy.Also been onto UKGPL forum in IGOR and we found out I dont have the lines you informed me of earlier ie( server and client)in my GPL ini.So somebody as sent me there INI with the info lines in to replace mine.Offcourse I will keep my original safe and adjust the one sent to me with my original INI combined
.Thanks Bob !I will post back here if it works or not.

Managed to get it working and connecting online
But now when I ride along every couple of seconds I get a flicker at the bottom of the screen
Then after so long the race freezes and the picture hangs

Flicker at the bottom of the screen usually means some other program is running - very often the virus checker is asking about permissions or something like that.
What you can do is hit ctrl-alt-del to bring up the task manager and see what is running. From the task manager window you can usually access the program to take care of whatever it needs or shut it down.

Such a flicker can also be a mismatch of rasterizers!
Look before you join if this is a 60FpS or 36FpS server and check the right one in GEM+

Well it seems (crossed fingers)that I have sorted connection and flicker.Spent a couple of hours re-installing gpl67 GEM and all Mods
So now I can connect into Igor and did quick practice lap-no hang up or flicker.Only prob is it will not recognise mods
I have mods in seperate folders!Also when I go onto vroc I can see the race lists but if I try to join a novice practice(HOPE I'M ALLOWED TO?)just to try test driving in vroc it goes to auto registration and then nothing happens?Anyway thanks Bob and cookie for your advice

Hi Bob yes it was me in a desperate moment to get on vroc and ticking every option and box in sight,not knowing what it would do!It was something to do with the soc sox sock can't remember server in options.I ticked it and when I tried to join a practice a vroc panel came up on screen saying auto registration please wait
