Once upon a time I could click the bookmark for SRMZ and here I'd be, logged in and ready to go.  About two months ago began the minor irritant of having to log in every time I come here.  The "remember me" box is checked on my login page, my browser is set to remember login data for all sites, and I experience no such annoyance on other sites.  So it must be some idiosyncrasy unique to SRMZ, but what?  More importantly, where do I slap the site to induce it to revert to its previous behaviour?

You should probably have your browser not delete your login info/passwords/cookies every time you exit it..   The website's "Remember me" tick box works fine.

i keep getting that at work too, or on my phone, but not at home. well it works for 24 hours on the other two, at home it always works.
i think it gets a bit annoyed when i try to login from 3 different locations at the same time and wants to ask me (very subtle there) which one i prefer :P.

The PW saving in your browser won't keep you logged in in that sense, it only helps you enter the PW once you open the login page or so. However, SRMZ cannot remember you as long as it's unable to save cookies on your PC, I think. So if all of your cookies are deleted whenever you close your browser, you're probably no longer logged in. What happens if you leave SRMZ but don't close your browser before going back?

well what can i say? i am the IT people here lol, and yes we make you wipe your bottoms every once in a while. but then you shouldn't save passwords and logins anyway - least at work. but hey, we've got another IT department supervising us and their answer to most questions is the equivalent of a nuke "wipe it" or "reinstall it" - mostly the latter :)
but some of the dimwits we have in our company... that really is the best way, not for all of course, but hey... sometimes learning has to hurt. like crashing in gpl. learn not to crash and you'll be faster :P

Just having a bit of fun here coss i'm part of IT as well lol..

And i don't save pw just the login link and username(parnoid as i am i don't have them digitally just printed) ;)

But we mostly work on an if then yes or no basis:

Is it broken?
No, leave it alone before it does
Yes, then:
can you blame someone else?
Yes, phew good for you
No, then:
Did anyone see you brake it?
No, walk away
Yes, your screwed (sorry we don't have a solution for everything in IT, we call this fuzzy logic)

No auto-delete of cookies;  I go through them manually a couple of times a month.  SRMZ is the only site that's given me this problem, though it's been behaving since I first posted this (naturally).

Still dealing with this irritant.  Cookies aren't the problem.  Firefox is set to remember login data.  "Remember me" is checked on login page here.  Yet:

I have exactly the same problem - in fact I found this thread as I was about to put up a question about it.  And I'm an experienced forum user and don't have this problem anywhere else.....

at the bottom of the forum there is a link : Delete My Cookies

Maybe try that and then see if the fresh cookie works
