I'd be interested in knowing what tracks people are adding for the sports car mod.  In addition to the eight championship and two non-championship tracks recommended by the ultra talented and extremely generous mod makers, I have added the following:

Original GPL Tracks
Monza
Silverstone
Zandvoort
Kyalami
Mosport

Add-on Tracks
Riverside
Bridgehampton
Lime Rock
Cleremont-Ferrand
Goodwood
Laguna Seca
Oulton Park
Dundrod
Buenos Aires
Zeltweg
Oesterreichring

You might also consider the following tracks which were used by lower classes (i.e. Sports Cars, CanAm, USRRC etc):

Hockenheim
Magny-Cours (Jean Behra)
Mainz-Finthen
Mont-Temblant/St-Jovite
Road America
V.I.R.

I haven't installed all of them yet, but they are on my personal list. :)

ST Jovite is a real MUST for the Sport Car Mod. Last night I had the race of my life there. It was made for Porsche. ....Try it....you won´t be disapointed

Hi  Oulton Park in the UK had Sports Car Meetings. I know Brian Redman won there in a Lola T70. Plus a lot of the Chevron testing went on there.Croft ran Interserie on the earlier track.Some Chevron testing at Aintree also.
Aspern and Innsbruck in Austria.Montlhery in France. Kyalami,Killarney Pietermaritzburg in Africa and Lourenco Marques in Mozambique were visited at the end of the Championship in 1968.I've not checked the track database to see if all these tracks have been created.
Hope this helps. Going to be busy!!

Flop,

Incidentally, in 1967 there was a small national Sport Car race at the  Magny Cours Jean Berha track .Did you try it with the GT 40 like Schlesser ?

As you see, we should reduce drastically the distance between cars for starting grid by tweaking the stalls in the track.ini  :D

I haven't been to Magny-Cours yet, so no. I have to confess that I only just installed a variety of GPL addons from the last year or two yesterday, including the Stratos and GT mods. I have installed all relevant tracks I could get hold of, driven a lap around Brands last night and half an hour at Le Mans this afternoon. Unfortunately, GPL locked up at the end so I didn't get to race yet. It looks like 19 AI cars at 60 fps is simply too much for my PC, 36 fps will have to be enough for now.

:)

BTW, the simple fact that I managed to install such an amount of updates in the space of half a day does mean something. It all went as smoothly as I hoped it would, which makes me even more grateful to all the addon creators around here and the mod team in particular!

Sorry, I'm a bit of a noob here. How do I get the original Silverstone to install for this mod?
Thanks!

I suppose zou are using GEM.

  • click on the Season button
  • select either GT.ini or GTSEASON.ini in the right column (cant remember which one you get with the mod)
  • select Silverstone in the left list and click the topmost button.
If you´re not using GEM you need to do some manual ini editing

  • go to this folder inside your GPL root...\gpl\seasons
  • open GT.ini and add
-----------------------
[Event#]
name=British Grand Prix
shortname=British GP
trackDirectory=silver
month=7
day=15
numberOfLaps=80
startingGrid=10
flag=britflg
trackShortName=Silverstone Circuit

------------------------
to the end of the file
  • replace the # in the first line with the next highest integer. So if the previous event has number 8 it will be 9
  • Also change the 4th line from the top to the number of Event entries in the file [numEvents=]
