Hallo Ed ,

I would like to do a proposal/suggestion , why not making a Benchmark time behind the promotion tracks it would be more attracktive for the people to get involved .
If it would be a problemos to know which time to place behind a new track you can ask me ( ore someone els who wants to do it ) .
With this idea you could take for example 9 GT Tracks , for the 65ers 7 tracks and restard again or youcould do all GT tracks  and than all 65ers :idunno: .
For the moment i don't see manny people getting involved with the promo tracks .
Anyway , like i said it is a proposal/suggestion .
Greets  :hat-tip:
It's something to consider, but instead of a benchmark, I could use the average time of the top 5 drivers or so when I put the announcement of a new track promo starting on the frontpage and Twitter. Yes, that is still under construction and one of the features I want to put online first,

Ed

Is there some track proposal for the next week?

Cheers, Marcos.
Yes, of course. The question is: which track and which GPL version?

I didn't realised we'd started until yesterday.
Andy
And yet another reason that I must first put the announcements online :-)  I will probably start each new track promo on midnight from Sun to Monday (the server is on EST time, which is GMT minus 5 (I think!)).

Hi Ed
I've not uploaded times onto GPL rank before. I tried yesterday but it didn't recognise the track.

Next one is Moulinsarte very nice track super

Ed another proposal , why not do a piont system those who participate get pionts for example take Monza 1000K 67
there is Burnsy834 who is first so he get 11p second get 10p third 9p last get 1p , this is because there where 11people who
participated for this track .
Now lets take Pacifix Raceway there are for the moment 9 people who toke part so again , first me :D  9p sec 8p and so on at the end of the track promotion with the GTMod we count all the pionts together from each driver with a winner at the end .
This we could do also with other mods to :P
Like i said it izzzzze a proposal .

I find it as a great idea (even if I'm in the last third :) )

And Sven... I can't imagine how did your time with the Porsche910! Congrats!
Even summing my Pribluda's best partials I could not ran below 1.27. Do you have a replay of that lap to share with us? Obviously after the end of the week :)

Cheers, Marcos.

Hi all,

I have added an new feature for the Track Promotion about an hour ago. It's a graphical presentation of the results. For now it's only for the Overall standings and I have yet to implement the "next", "previous" and so links, but for now it gives a good impression of how I like to present the results. Currently, the performance of drawing the chart leaves a lot to wish for and I'll be looking into that the coming week. The other big feature that I'll be working on is posting updates to the GPLRank homepage and Twitter.

Cheers,
Ed

PS: The current promotion is for the original GPL version for a change. All that GT stuff must have become boring :-)

It looks great Ed    I hope you mix up the mods a bit as well just as you've changed from GT's to 67's. Thanks for your work getting this thing organized  :hat-tip:

Yes!
Feels great to drive open-wheel cars again!!  I think would be fantastic to drive the remaining mods too. The last track, however, is much strange for formula cars... I miss the real circuits (doesn't matter to me if they are much known or completely unknown).

Thanks for the return of the promotions. I'm really enjoying it!
Marcos.

I must admit that I haven't driven the track myself. I have added it based on scores in the Tracks Database. I'll try to get a more suitable one next time around.

Definitely not a terrible track.  In fact it's an amazing example of track building, but I'm finding it very difficult.  It feels like maybe it belongs in a different sim.
