Bob,

thks to your remark

I profit to check on the main 67 races with open tops

Daytona and Sebring : only tested on some 910 during practice

At Nurby, Winner car of Schütz Buzzetta and Hawkins Koch cars had open top

at Mugello, Mitter Schütz

at Brands Hatch, Siffert/Mc laren

Schütz certainly liked fresh air

Michel, I believe Schutz was tall for a driver so he needed the open cockpit to fit.

Good job Greg.

Thanks!

Just updated previous upload with the additional drivers/cars for races at Nurburgring and Brands Hatch to go along with the one at Targa Florio (no cross-country Mugello track, yet!)
.... please replace Maglioli with his new driver 3do in this new archive.

Thank you very much, Michel.  Also, give your contact a big 'thanks' from me!  I've looked for hours trying to find a photo of "Mr. Young".

You have always found the best photos for us!!  Happy Holidays and a bountiful New Years, my friend!

Well... here is a new version of the Porsche 910 without the roof.  Many thanks to Ginetto for tweaking the Porsche 3do (shape) files to clean-up the look through the open top.  He also made the opening more precise - great work!

Plus, we now have much better colorized driver face images for Maglioli, Siffert, Schütz and Hawkins.... courtesy of Ginetto and silence!!  Thank you, so much, guys.

.... and I had forgotten how tremendously enjoyably it is to drive through those beautiful Sicilian mountains!!!

*** Hill face and better helmet ..... mmmm.... forgot the helmet creator.  Maybe Gianfranco or Chris???? ***

Greg,

You asked on a post about Sten Axelsson face

Here what I found .Not good and with helmet ( I like them in menus !), but perhaps better than nothing ;At a 1967 Swedish sport car race with his Carrera 6

Firstly, the mirrors on all the cars except the Porsche 910 were upside-down. I fiddled with the "usual" settings, and found that if I changed "Run ZBuffer in separate thread" to just "Use ZBuffer", the problem was corrected. (Does this indicate that the Porsche 910 mirrors are modelled slightly differently to the other cars? I'm puzzled by the difference!)

Change your GEM+ rasteriser settings to:

In the past I used D3Dv2 and did not have this problem. I fixed my Pribluda settings and switched to OpenGLv2 which gives much better framerate. Now I have this up/side down mirror problem for the GTmod. I am using ZBuffer in an extra thread otherwise my cockpit and some tracks look a little blueish. And that is not what I want. Is there another way to flip the mirrors? Are there virtual mirrors for the GTmod?

Greetings, Marcel

Try unticking "Direct Mirror Rendering" in that window you show to put the mirrors right side up.

Hi Bob,

I tried that but unticking "Direct Mirror Rendering" does not have any influence. Is it an idea to make a mirror like the Porsche has, because that isn't upside-down?

Greetings, Marcel

I run all mods with OpenGLv2 but didn't notice any problems with mirrors. When I come home I will check my settings.

Edit: this what I use (from core.ini)

Quote

[RasterV2]
Device = 0
TossBiggestMips = 0
MaxMipSize = 512
MirrorSize = 0
DirectMirrorRendering = 1
DrawMethod = 1
ZBufferType = 0
AnisotropicFiltering = 0
TrilinearFiltering = 1
LODBias = -50
32Bit = 0
Width = 0
Height = 0
FogDensity = 1000
VSync = 0

Thanks Pavel,

Tried your settings. The mirrors were OK, but I had the blue cockpit again. Looks terrible. I am running with an ATI HD2600Pro. Updating the drivers could be a last possibility.
So Far I have these options.
- Leave it as it is and run with mirrors upside-down, the Porsche is OK.
- Run with a blue dashboard and the mirrors OK.
- Run in D3Dv2 with mirrors OK but with a framerate 25-28 FPS.
- Try a newer driver for the videocard. Videocard was released in 2007, now running 2009 driver.
- Maybe someone with knowledge regarding carbuilding can make a seperate mirror that is reversed.
  I know MECH made some in the past, there are not working either, for a special driver.

Greetings, Marcel

Marcel, how this 'blue cockpit' looks like? Can you post screenshot?
