A couple of observations. As you were coming out of turn one the track turned to asphalt, not concrete. If fact if you were to wide coming out of turn one you would still be OK as far as the concrete went but you would wind up in the dirt as the asphalt was just a two lane road like you have later on after turn three.
I also don't recall buried tires or straw bales around the course. As I recall there was nothing other than cones set out at various areas around the track.
The one problem we are still having with GPL concerns pitting. When we slow down and pull into the pits the screen breaks up and flickers and it freezes. Any known cure for this? It isn't just this track that happens on, it is all tracks and all types of cars, GP, GP2 and the sports cars.
Again, thanks for the memories.

I just born in 1967 and was around 5.000 miles away...
I'm going to release the 64 version of Sebring and I will use your description for T1-T3 part
I saw in movies from 64 and 67 the haybales and the tires but just in a few places; for the uncovered parts I just went by fantasy
For your problem in the pits, you should try the v2 rasterizers and play a little with the settings.
I don't have any of the problems you describe and I guess is an old rasterizers problem.
If you still have the issue, post a thread in the help section, meny other will give you a hand

Wasn 't at Sebring in 67, too young and too faraway, but I have pics testifying there was white buried tires markers on at least one corner and straw bales .
But big nose cones were mainly used all around the track .so Ginetto, you got a good intuitive feeling !!
R. Tarr, you have been lucky to attend those kind of races .if you have some personal shots from Sebring 1967, we wld be very entertained to look at them .
Thk you for your remarks

The picture of the Chaparral rounding the corner appears to have been taken at the hair pin turn. I don't recall those tires being there but the picture shows they were. The straw bales are not marking the edge of the track, the cones are. The straw bales I guess were just a bit of a safety factor.
I did take pictures when we were there, but they are on slides not photos. The only picture I had made from the slides was of my wife with James Garner. He had his Lola T70 entered in the race, he did not drive it though.
I was lucky to have seen those cars, they were great cars and sounded as great as they looked.

Ah James Garner car is a very sought after for pics. After the movie Grand Prix, he liked and involved a lot in the experience of a racing drivers, and decided to run his own team, isn ' it ?
If one day you get some of your spare time to scan your color slides here ( with a scanner you can do it and convert them to .jpg) and post some of them here, SRMZ wld be very delighted by your pics testimony about this race

We were at the Sebring race from the mid to late 60's. James Garners car we saw was from the 1969 race I believe. I did find pictures on line of the 1969 Lola of Garner's. I do remember it was painted blue, very pretty.
I did take a quick look for the slides and didn't fine them. They must be packed away in things we don't need and are packed up. I also have some 8mm Film footage I shot at Sebring and I no longer have the camera or projector.
I will look for the slides though.

some shots of Serbring 67 that will bring back some memories
I am a proud owner of one of the most beautiful Porsche 906 ever built, the Steinemann Spoerry Porsche 906 with his special long heck, entered by the Swiss team Squadra Tartaruga. Minichamps has been clever to release it on the 1/18 scale. The car finished 4 at Sebring.
Who says red suit well to the Ferraris ? Not bad on a Porsche .....
Lucky are you to have seen that car on the track.

Just for usefull information about Garner/Sebring:
There was an documentary film named "The Racing Scene" from 1969 and published in 1970.
It show a lot of intresting stuff around this years (tracks/cars/drivers/etc.).
Maybe this documentary film can help to clear some question from this thread. Search around on Wikipedia for usefull links and additional informations.
I am lucky that i have the complete film in my HD archive.
