Hi guys,
playing around with the new GPLPS installer I come across the pit board fonts which I had a nice white chalk one. I tried several and hadn't found the one I was looking for. No real problem I thought and opened pbfont.pbf with papybmp and converted it to a bmp. Looked at the BMP and it's easy how it is done:

ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ0123456789-:+.

40 Entries

The BMP file is 320x32 so each letter is 8x32. How to do this easily?
Attached is one of the pbfont bmps.

I'd suggest to create a 320x32px new Photoshop file, and a layer group with a layer carrying a 8x32px sized rectangular shape. Then you can align the text (letter A in its final style) to its centerline. Duplicate this first layer group and free-transfrom (Ctrl/Cmnd-T)  the new one beside the first one. Duplicate the 2nd layer group and hit Ctrl/Cmnd-Shft-T (Transform again). Follow this method till you got 40 layer groups with "A" letters, then start to change the letters. You might have to scale the wide letters (M, W) horizontaly to match the layer width.

Hi Bernd !

I check my HD-archiv for "pbfont.pbf".

I found a version from 24.11.2004 from Keith Wakefield from RSC-download.

I save the RSC-site offline with description too:

I use this "pbfont.pbf" since Keith postet it. It looking more clear and sharper then the original from 1998. The dl-file include a "backgrnd.pbf". The "pbfont" is yellow. I have a version of "pbfont.pbf" in white letters too, dl it same time, but letters are not clear and sharp.

Greetings

Achim

Oh and i dunno if it has been posted somewhere, you remember the pitguy?

I still have the one for XP, but I didn't test it under Vista or W7. Easy to use and fun, just read the "read me" :)
