I was asked for this by someone as it's another tool that disappeared from the now non-existent RSC

Zeroes out unk3 and unk4 values in a TRK file. Mainly for AI file makers. By Traveller.

from the readme:

GPL TRK Surface Value Zeroer

Okay, I know that 'Zeroer' is probably not a word.

This program will set the 7th and 8th values of the
surfaces in a GPL TRK file to zero.  It has been
carved out of another program of mine.

To use, click on the 'PickTRKFile' button.  A dialog
will appear in which you will select the TRK file with
which you want the surface values zeroed.  Again,
'zeroed' is probably not a word. :)

You can select either a DAT file or a TRK file.  If
you select a DAT file, the TRK file within will be
extracted.  Checks are made to see if the files are
valid GPL DAT and TRK files.

Two files will be created from the TRK file you select.

The first is the '_Normal' file, which is just a copy
of the TRK file.

The second is the '_Zeroed' file, which is, of course,
the TRK file with the 7th and 8th surface values set
to zero.  Messages are written confirming the files
being written.

You can Copy & Paste then Rename the new TRK files to
help with your AI creation.

Here you go  speeding_duck. ;)

If you are planning to use it for creating ai then you could do without it.
You only need the latest version of rpy2lp to convert a replay to lp files. This version doesn't require a zeroised trk file anymore.
Then you can finetune and add other lp's by using AiEdit. Basically you would need only to drive the race lp and the pit lp.
Aiedit can create the min/maxrace lps (but only if the Track.ini parms are done properly) The passing lines you can create by copying the race lp to pass1/pass2 and edit with AiEdit to change the drivinglines for passing moves.

Have a look in the AiEdit helpfile and you will find lot's of info on creating ai.. :2c:

Yeah, that was (and is) my intention...

OK now back to see that it does not have to work!

Yep, it works. Very good.

Interesting. I started by reading the AI tutorial by M.Beckman (and kinda liked the hands-on attitude). Haven't tried AiEdit much yet, but will do-
