It is the "Roswell GP... Las Ocho Milas Version" by GAMMAWORX

This track  configuration is a very cool , high speed , drifting , drafting, endurance road race... like no other....that is... totally punishing on the cars... and their drivers... the environment is extreme...  the course is extremely raceable... and flows very nicely... it is ever challenging ... it was /still is a little known event in that only a few have raced there ...yet it is celebrated, and held to be a special challenge event...  a worthy accomplishment indeed just to finish...  a truly unique experiences in road racing ...alot more tricky then it looks...

I like this track alot ...it gives me that @ the edge high speed thrill , that only a really good racing venue can ...you do have to race the track... as well as... the other machines and competitors... when you hit it just right... it is truly , a thing of beauty...
Enjoy ...Stay Tuned...  G:)

** Note: this particular road circuit has all the makings for great  Club Track Racing
the track PKG. is an "As Is " release, the over all package still could use a couple more Addons / Tweaks
ie: a starter and flagmen , some camera adjustments, and all manner of  TSO's flagged as solid objects.
these few updates from the GPL Community would make this track even better...

***BTW: I did some extensive editing trials...  recalibrating some functions and variables in the "drivers and the gpl_ai files" that put some extra excitement...  and dimensions to the AI 's overall performance... that seem to work quite well for adding some interesting racing situations ... i tested on this track and "BlueMountain" ...they worked very well  and was quiet favourable and satisfying... I'll post these  2 Alt. files  in a short while for your consideration...

Thanks! I like how all textures really go together nicely. The cactus plants and leafless shrubbery are very nice!

errrm, you have a trackinstaller in there, the dat file for the installer and the track.dat (bottom.dat) file which the installer creates. Normally an update would only need the files you changed being the 3do's,pbf's, srb's and mips.

It seems to me it would be better to just put those files in the zip instead of the complete track and the installer  Besides now your redistributing a track and not supplying an add-on, which is kinda not done around these area's  ;)

Not criticising anything though  ;), it just made things a bit confusing to install (which i still haven't done because i didn't want to overwrite the lp files i created for this track. So i need to backup things first and since time isn't on my side  )

This seemed like as good and logical a place to put this as any.

We ran this track with ADC this past week and found the problem of no starter or flagmen to be something of an issue for us, so I have made the attached to address this. Unzip the attached archive and put the loose files into the gpl/tracks/bottom folder allowing overwrite.

No guarantees that this hasn't introduced new clipping etc. that wasn't there before, and likewise I haven't spent much effort on perfectly locating the flagmen around the lap, but as it stands there is at least now a starter and 21 flagmen to give you a bit of warning of what might be over the next blind brow or around the next corner.

Have fun,

Rob

Thanks!!

Did you tested this track online? Have discovered some another issue to justify maintaining it as a beta?

Very welcome everyone, I am glad if it helps.

For the first ADC race we used the original version and struggled due to no starter and were also not helped by no flagmen either. I made the file attached here for the guys to try last night in their second online race at this venue (although I couldn't race with them this time since it was well past my bed time on a week night), but they reported that it was now much better than our previous attempt, hence posting it here for everyone else to test / use.

I don't think that adding the flagmen and starter has made any clipping worse or caused any other unexpected problems, and certainly having a starter is better than not having one at all. :)

In terms of it being beta or finished I don't know who's decision that is really? If the track maker is still working on it or plans to finish it, they might have something to say about it, or likewise if anyone else plans to add any more to it? Other than that, does having working AI from MECH and now a starter and flagmen added from this thread (plus other graphics updates) and a layout that seems stable and doesn't CTD or freeze qualify for upgrade from beta to finished status?

I'd suggest people do a bit more testing both online and offline and check they are happy that there are no other outstanding major issues, and if all is well then it could get called finished?

Rob
