Zeltweg 1971

Zeltweg 1970 was created by Ronnie Bresich in 2001. The track was good but unfortunately very unstable. So  Ginetto and I  decided to fix and completely rework the track to make a new version called Zeltweg 1971.

Why a new version ? Because the track have been heavily modified and it is no more compatible with the old version.
We think it was the best decision to avoid compatibily problems with the old track and to guarantee a good stability online (i hope  Posted Image ) .

Other changes :

- new textures
- more than 2800 3do objects added
- crowd and announce sounds added

Cover by John Bradley :

Thanks to Ginetto for recreating the build files and fix the issues of the previous version, John Bradley for the program cover and of course Ronnie Bresich for the original track.

Enjoy !

For those of you who are interested in this sort of thing (you know who you are), I'll just point out that the MegaPosters of the Zeltweg '71 cover (3x 6x 12x) are up in that BAPOM-place.

Another Corel Painter project, which was taken into Photoshop for final color tweaking and the text-work.

The posters turned out rather nice, I think. The BRM came out really well, photo-realistic, almost looks 3-d. The inner grass mound and the road surface look pretty good, and the trees and crowd in the background are fine... for background objects.

I tried to focus attention on the lead car by having the stuff in the back get less detailed, less contrasty, etc. -- rather than having it all be 'in focus' like a photograph.

Thanks for this new visual and audio experience! The track seems smoother as well, but this might be optical illusion as you didn't modify the pathway, right?

Anyway, this is now the new standard for Zeltweg! Beautiful.
