the bugs are, according to Jackseller, unavailable fine setups with the patch and too short speeds of gearbox for the old setups (sorry for my english level). What do you think about ?

Those cannot be 60fps bugs since the patch leaves physics parameters unaffected (setup ranges etc..). Also, resolving Jackseller's problem did not require modifying the 60fps patch so I don't see how the bugs could be caused by it.

Manu,

I think you misunderstood what i wrote on F1Legends. The problem is not the 60 fps patch and it affects only F1Legends members. It is our "modified for text and menus" gpl.exe that causes a bug.

Since i use a standard and non personnalized gpl.exe (thanx Brr), the problem is gone.

As Brr says :

Shadows, reflection missing very evident in GPL quality rating.

Hi all,

I just want to say I'm not exactly new to GPL but have just downloaded the 60fpsv2 patch and BLOODY WOW!!!!  :D What a smooth ride and now trying to get my league to change it's server to the same patch. great stuff brr and thanks.

I have one question though and that is:-

When I fired up Gem+ and ticked the 60fpsv2 box, I hit the green GPL box and GPL fired up but I couldn't cliick on the green box to get any further. I tried this 4-5 times and had no joy so I exited out and ticked the 60fpsv2newmod box and everything worked like a dream.

So what I'm wondering is if for arguements sake my league server is running the 60fpsv2 patch, will I have problems joining with the 60fpsv2newmod patch or will it all work ok? If not is there anything that can be done to get the 60fpsv2 to work?

Thanks in advance for an awesome patch.  :clap2:

60fpsv2 and 60fpsv2newmod are compatible with each other, so you can join a 60fpsv2 server with either patch.

tried this today, trying join EOLC 60fpsV2 server with 60fpsV2 ticked and it didnt let me in ,( you are not qualified to this race)   . with 60fpsV2newmod this let me in to EOLC server.

same is for Trellet 60fps server , it doesnt let me in using 60fpsV2 but works on 60fpsV2newmod.

also GT mod dont work on 60fpsV2 versions at all, but V1 do.

I successfully use 60fpsv2 (not newmod) to join trellet and GeLi 60fps servers. Both v2 patches have the same connection logic, so I am not sure what could explain your problem.

This happens to me as well.

I dusted off the GPL install recently and was experimenting with 60 fps patches to see what the fuss was about.
I ran into both issues with 60fpsV2... I could not connect in multi player via iGOR and, later discovered that I could start the game but not launch to a track.

After reading a few threads on 60fps I would guess that I must use 60fpsv2newmod (for my install) as I have the long track patches.

Am I correct in my thinking?

Thanks to all the talented people that have made GPL what it is today. All the content, patches and applications have made GPL a legend in its own.

Well, I finally got a new computer. As I said I would, I tried this patch.

I first tried it in with the D3D V2 raster and I didn't see what the big deal was. Then I noticed I was only at 40 FPS. I adjusted some things and made it better, but it still stuttered a lot, even when I went to extremely low resolutions. I could see glimpses of what the 60FPS would give, so I kept trying. Eventually I got it to where I was at 60 for a lap or so, but then it would start falling off and dip into the 40's again.

Out of desperation, I decided to try OpenGL. My old system hated OpenGL and it always looked like :crap:. Not this one! I get 60FPS with everything turned up and it is  smooth as butter. I haven't ran on-line with it yet, but I can definitely see the difference between the 60FPS and old 36FPS.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong with D3D but I'm not too woried about it since OpenGL works so well.

Well done brr and thanks!

don't worry too much about D3D - i used to be one of the ati/amd camp people and opengl has always been the achilles heel of their drivers, so i used to steer clear of it for years. however it's different for GPL. i started using OGL with my last few ati/amd cards and since moving to nvidia cards i didn't change it back other than for brief tests, which were unsatisfactory at best. i used to prefer the D3D crispness, but i think you can get similar results with OGL plus you have better framerates... so there ya go :)

the only problem with 60fps is, once you've used it for longer, you don't want to go back to 36fps - i can't for the life of me. it feels to choppy, too slow :S
