Drawing any text (chat messages, Digital Display Modifier) with the v2 rasterisers is surprisingly slow, which might partly explain it. I recall someone complaining about less fps in the F10 view, which draws the same line of text as DDM. I haven't had time to check if using v1 rasterisers online would avoid the issue, though its not very helpful since v2 rasterisers are generally better.

So disabling the in car chat in options should solve the FPS problem as GPL wouldn't then draw the text?  :unsure:

Worth trying, if you can do without chat messages online. Let us know how it goes.

Wow. What a big difference this patch makes to the 1967 cars. This is excellent!

Gone are those annoying stutters at Mexico and Monaco.

The much smoother and faster frame rate makes for better racing overall - the quality at 60 fps is a hell of an improvement over the standard 36.

So what if the a.i. is a bit off - its only noticable to these eyes at Kylami (on the start finish straight) , and Mosport (on Mario Andretti Straight).

36 FPS:beatdeadhorse: 60 FPS:yeah:.

Sorry Petteri i forgot to report back to you on how things went after my league race last Wednesday. Turning off chat did seem to improve framerate problems but i still think theres something going on as the framerate drops slightly when people join the server and could be chatting. But its not a major issue and didn't affect my race.

OK, thanks for the feedback. The remaining fps drop is probably unavoidable, GPL needs to do certain things when people join or leave. Also sending and receiving chat or other messages could cause stutters even when not displaying them.

I did notice my bandwidth settings were not the same as the server and have ammended them so that they are the same now and haven't tested to see if that has helped yet :idunno:

Yes. I suffer from this quite a bit. The longer the chat message, the worse the stutter, but it is noticeable even when the 'driver connected' message comes up. Not only with 60fps though, it's also noticeable in 36fps. I'm using OpenGLv2.

When the 60fps patch first came out, my old PC wasn't really powerful enough to take advantage of it, and I ended up getting lots of stuttering and inconsistent framerates. However, now that I've had to go out and buy a slightly more up-to-date PC, this patch really makes a difference for a hot-lapper like me!

Just seeing GPL running at a smooth 36fps on my new hardware was nice. But just as an experiment, I thought I would tick the little box in GEM and see what happened. WOW!  :shock:  :thumbup: Everything's just so much smoother. Now that I've also found the patched version of GPLRA so I can upload my laptimes again, I don't think I'll be going back to 36fps again.

I may be a bit late to the party, but you've definitely got another new convert here brr! Thanks!  :clap2:

(Jusht realished, thish ish my 400th post on SRMZ. Think I'll have shum beersh to shelebrate!  :drunk: )

Yay, another sees the buttery smoothness in its full flavor:) Now there are two not one 60fps server up in vroc also. ASRG6 though in oz, is 60fpsv2 testing also, and of course trellet 60fps will be up too, currently on zeltweg71 til next thursday.

On this website F1Legends.ch, Jackseller seems to have found the solution to the different bugs of the 60Fps patch. As he said, he has worked in cooperation with the author of the patch.
So, is the modified patch performed by Jackseller different from the 60fps patch V2 or V1 available here ? And second question, does he use the 60FpsaiV1 file or not ? For information, his "miracle" file is available only for members of the F1 Legends league.

the bugs are, according to Jackseller, unavailable fine setups with the patch and too short speeds of gearbox for the old setups (sorry for my english level). What do you think about ?
