Torino '55 and Dijon-Prenois '73 might choose to disagree with you... but I'm glad you like it anyhow! :)

Good news: I'm now sure that the starter is there, just way off in the boondocks

Bad news: Further investigation reveals that the starter location is included in the .TSO (track side object) file when the track .dat file is created, so I'm going to have to do a _lot_ more reading on all of that.  :P

Here's hoping there's a easy way to extract and replace what I need to.

Ginetto :bowdown2: , Thank you. As always I take my hat off to the select few that take their time to make GPL better for all  :hat-tip:

One start finish line 3dfx mip fix for one of Ginetto's most excellent upgrades for Jacare.

Ginetto and John contributed to making this track more enjoyable so I kicked in a little spare time to try to do the same thing. Just a little addon. Rio is greener than whoever the track author is has shown it to be.

Hello people.

As we'll race here in Jacarepaguá in Mybroga soon, and I don't liked some textures this track had (even after the great improvement that Ginetto and others did), I tweaked some mips to improve (or at least I think so) the asphalt.

I modified also the dat to allow it read mips external to it. As I don't know how to do an installer or something like that, I attach my "jacare" folder compressed in a rar file. Just copy it to your gpl/tracks folder. Doing a backup of your original folder could be a good idea.

Hope you find it useful

Marcos.

Thanks Marcos :)

What did you modify in the DAT? I ask just to know if I can keep the original one.
Do you know that in GPL all the loose files replace the ones in the DAT so you actually don't need to touch the DAT for an update; just place the updated files loose in the folder and the ones with the same name in the DAT will be overwritten by the loose one. ;)

Hehe. I removed from the dat the files that I added loose in the folder.

So... keep your dat :)

The single important thing that is missing is a racing groove. I could do it if somebody has a replay of a good lap.

Thanks. Marcos

Mmm, I "just" need a .cln file to do the groove...

Does somebody know how could I do one? I guess there is not some existant .cln file for Jacare...

Cheers, Marcos.

All this track needs is a better AI, and braking point markers. It is a bit bumpy and slippery, but who cares. It's fun to drive regardless.
