Now there is a can of worms if I ever saw one!

I've used a lot of Steve Life stuff in the past, but only still use any at Kyalami.  I use his as a base and add the Klas horizon.  I also have options for the pit wall or not.

Mexico is David Wright with a different horizon (Al Heely?).

Monaco Rocks!

Monza Rocks too!

Mosport is Jason Peters with the Klas horizon and Kelllaaa68 addons.

I'm still using Kellaaa's last update to The Nurburgring untouched.

Rouen Historical is just the best.

Silverstone has been untouched for so long I forget who did it.  Ah!  A search reveals it's Jack Sellers!

Spa is a mix of many different authors.  A true Frankenstien.  You can't use Scotties version with rebel racers sounds.  Seegert's horizon is a must have.

Watkins Glen is now Rock Lobster and Remy Roesz.

Zandvoort is now the Mod Squad's.

I'm interested in other's favorites.

What is the general opinion of the All In One installer's gfx?
Are they realistic/accurate?

I have changed some tracks to other updates:
Monaco - unknown, probably a mix of Monaco Rocks lite & Steve Life
Nurby - XKellaaa
Rouen - historical v2
Watkins - added the 'fall' files
Zandvoort - multi season update

the rest are all from the installer.

Monza and Monaco seem to have a problem: Archive damaged or unknown format. Is it possible to re-upload it after verification ?  :idunno:
Sorry, those 2 files are corrupt. I will have a look later in the week at some other h/d and see if I can find good ones.

Those 2 files are also corrupt on my DVD's, I must have not downloaded them properly. Sorry

Monaco, at that time, was to heavy for some systems so it was left out. It will be in the next version with monaco rocks and a light version.
Nurby, XKellaaa version/addons has been released after the Installer and may be included if I get permission.
Rouen, the version included in the installer is not as accurate as the Rouen historiacl version but was a good compromise.
Watkins, missed the fall update :)
Zandvoort - a good version included but the later released multi season update is great

Overall we tried a combination of historic, accurate addons which are not to heavy for most systems. So I think it's fair to say that it's a good compilation. It's at least much more accurate then the original files of a plain GPL installation :)
At the moment we're trying to get permissions to include different, additional stuff in the next version.

I have Steve Life's photo real add ons (both version 7.0) for Monaco and Monza.  Are these the files you want/need?  If so I will upload.

Here you go.  Both files by Steve Life. I downloaded them 31/7/2004.

Monaco add on is for putting on top of Monaco Rocks.  Due to the dates I think this would have been Monaco Rocks v1.6.

I went to the web archive and saw his "categories":

STEVE LIFE KYALAMI 7.0 Historic Photo-Real - Horizon from Real Photo (On Basic Project by Klas GPL TODAY)
Tent by Dede Driver, Fence by Clark, Photo-Real files by Steve Life

STEVE LIFE MEXICO 7.0 Historic Photo-Real
(On Basic Project by Jackseller) Files by Al Heeley, Berca, Darkgreen, Jackseller, Fence by Clark, Photo-Real files by Steve Life
(he might be using photos but THAT horizon is NOT real nor historic to Mexico!!! Well, maybe what the landscape there looked like 2 million years ago but they didn't have cameras to make photo realistic photos back then. )

STEVE LIFE MONACO 7.0 ADD-ON FOR MONACO ROCKS Historic Photo-Real
Photo-Real files by Steve Life

STEVE LIFE MONZA 7.0 NOTH Not Historic Photo-Real
Files by Valex, Fence by Clark, Photo-Real files by Steve Life

STEVE LIFE MOSPORT 7.0 Historic Photo-Real
(On Basic Project by Jackseller) Files by Jackseller, Fence by Clark, Photo-Real files by Steve Life

STEVE LIFE NURBURGRING 7.0 Historic Photo-Real
Files by Dunky, Klas, Photo-Real files by Steve Life

STEVE LIFE NURBURGRING 7.0 Historic Photo-Real
Files by Dunky, Klas, Photo-Real files by Steve Life

STEVE LIFE ROUEN 7.0 Historic Photo-Real

STEVE LIFE WATKINS GLEN 7.0 Historic Photo-Real
Fence by Clark, Photo-Real files by Steve Life

STEVE LIFE ZANDVOORT 7.0 Historic Photo-Real
Photo-Real files by Steve Life

I have just got to challenge the Historic titles he applies to his addons, at least to some! He might be using historic pictures - the problem is what era and where?

If you like them fine, but please don't consider them to be accurate at all.

Right, no expert here, but if you'd adked me  :D

Kyalami - GPL Today
Mexico - Legends of 67 with these skies
Monaco - Monaco Rocks 2
Monza - Very small addon for Monza
Mosport - GPL Today
Nurburgring - GPL Today with these skies
Rouen - GPL Today with these bits and bobs
Silverstone  GPL Today ith these skies
Spa - Modif Design GPL with these skies
Watkind Glen - Berca Textures with these skies
Zandvoort - Legend of 67 with these skies

Most of these files may be a bit old, but imho are the best and easier (resolution size) to run on any pc.

F Caballero

Agree to the extent that this was the way to go some years ago. :-) And maybe even more when considering the term "easier" but still:
The current Rouen Historical 2.0 (which can be found here at the Mirrorzone) still has traces of Klas' gpl today addon, but has in most respects moved on - and very much so. The Berca Glenn is very nice, but Rock Lobster and Remy's updates are just more - hmmm - well - less dated. And more "photoreal" to make a connection to the title of this thread.
Agree about Monaco :), Monza, and I guess, Silverstone, although sticking only to the Klas update is maybe a bit "archaic". There are several updates, you could put on top of that - one of them is the 3d tribunes which author slips my mind.
Disagree about Spa - you really ought to try out my horizon and people + adverts stuff - hope this doesn't sound too silly... And theese are made on top of the update by zeb... And there's some new stuff at la source  but don't know much about that now right now...
Agree about nurby and Zandvort, but Kella has made an absolutely striking "old" version of Nurburgring with an increased draw ahead distance and lots of trees and lots of atmosphere... and the multiseason addon for Zandvort is really a must if you want realism. Still I love Berca skies - from the update combination you refer to.

And all these comments were just stated imho - not pretending to be everyone's truth. :)

I can't find Kella's Nurby update. I found a thread on RSC but he pulled the files ready for an update before RSC went down. Does anyone have any idea as to what is happening with it?

Great to read everyone's opinion on the updates, it gives me an idea of what these are like so I can make a somewhat informed decision before installing updates and comparing. Thanks everyone :D
