I've used Fraps in the past to capture the gpl replays to avi's,mpgs etc..
I'm sure somebody else can give yu some names of other screen capture programs.
There are also some other programs especially written to capture gplreplays like: GPL2AVI
See also: http://www.gpllinks.org/ under the section: GPL Movie/Photo for some explanations

Actually you might need a bit of fiddling with the files before you get anything showing on youtube:
Cut replay to size (anything from 1 to 30 seconds depending on taste and laziness).
Record to avi with gpl2avi
Record to avi with Fraps
From first avi save to avi with Virtual Dub (makes for a better avi)
From second avi (Fraped) save to wav with Vitual Dub (for soundtrack)
In premiere, pinnacle or other editor: put video and sound clips together
The repeat for the next 10 seconds of replay, with a different angle or cam.
With CCM you can do odd and moving angles while recording from replay.
Save to DVD-file set and upload the VTS_01_1.VOB to youtube:

Thanks for that Tagfat,
It sounds as though you are very knowledgable in this field, I am really more intreested in burning them to a DVD that will play in a standalone DVD player. Is 30 seconds max ? I would like to be able to put a replay of my league race on a DVD.

With fraps you can record as long as you can (depending on your memory setting for the replay) with sound.
Fraps leaves the frames on the screen, i believe gpl2avi cuts them away (it's been a while since i used it
P.S. i would advise to use another partition then the main (C:\) if the disk gets full at least you are still able to run windows.

I am a relative newie at this , and the number of video tools out there is just overwhelming.
I have been working with a couple .avi movies I downloaded . One of them, after converting with WinAVI, is less than 4.3 gig so I just burned it from WinAVI to a blank RW+. and then put it in the DVD player and it worked great. The other one is more than 4.3 gig , so I have been using DVDShrink to compress before burning. It goes through the process and even verifies the process , but when I put it in my DVD player it cannot read it. But it is playable in my computer.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Obviously I'm doing something wrong in DVDShrink.

Well i haven't played much with DVDshrink either and also movie files for that matter but i think that the problem lies in the compressing format. Your DVD player is limited to the formats it can handle. If you can set DVDshrink to output as vob file you could use Nero to create a playable video DVD with that format. But there may be simpler solutions as to what i suggested

Just set Nero up for a Video DVD.
If you then select new dvd (burn?) you'll get a Audio_ts & Video_ts folder.
Drop the vob in the Video_ts folder and you should have a working DVD.
Best to use a rewriteable for testing
