graphic update for syracuse track

all mips and srbs are borrowed from other tracks and are simply put together to give this track a mediterranean look. i have never been in syracuse, so the whole update is pure fiction. trees are borrowed from monaco rocks update and isle of man track. walls are borrowed from isle of man, grass is from klas silverstone update.
thnx to tormentor for syracuse track
thnx to jim pearson, klas and monaco rocks team for their work
thnx to papyrus for gpl

aldo regozani

Higher resolution graphics update for the fantastic Syracuse 1967 by Tormentor

Some mips have been replaced by me with higher resolution versions, most noticably the walls, hay and crowd textures.
Along with Aldo Regozani's update they make the whole track look quite nice.
Thanks to Aldo for collecting the good looking trees!

I first applied Regozani's update and then copied in my own mips.

Hope you like them!

P.S: I've posted this update along with Aldo's in one archive at RSC.

One more update to the walls. These are way more realistic than the ones in my first update. Personally, I prefer the older ones lol...

Hi guys I'm from Syracuse (Siracusa in Italian)
I like the work done to build the circuit of my city and however the track have a correct layout it is absolutely wrong in heights.
Te lowest point is approximately 400m past "Curva Carpinteri" while che highest one is before the same "Curva Carpinteri" but it begins at "Curva della Madonnina".
Originally there where almost no walls and armcos all around the track excluding only the front straight and some other turns. The track was almost 15m wide all long the circuit and at the front straight at least 20m o more.
The only walls were placed at "Curva Floridia" separing the straight to Floridia from "Curva Floridia".
Unfortunately I don't have any planimetry of the track yet but, if it could be of some interest, I cold try to get it from the "Automobile Club Italia di Siracusa". I know the track very well because I used to run on it with roller speed skates during winter practicing a lot of years ago.

Appreciated any suggestion.
I'm sorry for my bad English.

My best regards

Sergio "Clouds" Lonzar

This is what I have done to get the most enjoyable result imo with all the trackupdates.

I installed it in this sequence and overwrite files when asked to.

1. install the Syracuse track
2. install haywall fix
3. install Paul Skinkley's update
4. install Aldo Regozani's update
5. install Remco Hitman's 1st update
6. install Remco Hitman's 2nd update

Thanks for the great track.

Was re-visiting this track after noticing Mr. Coyote's  :D  add-on recommendations... and since watching jxeboy's "Let's Race GPL" series of voice-over replays.

Always was put-off by the 'flying-stringy-thing' above a section of low stone wall.  Well, fixed that mip and changed the 'blocky' cameraman .srb files with a nicer one from the Zandvoort multi-season mod. (hope that's okay with the compilers)

I remember in some closed battles with more cars, was difficult to see some curves. Then I edit the main.3do to to replace a tree for a AGIP-spot for reference.

Low.3do
Medium.3do
High.3do

Thanks Coyote for your recomendations of updating this track. Thanks gliebzeit & all the other track builders
to make this a jewel of a track.Didn't realize how nice it could look.Throw in Irridux's Historically correct
starting grid for the 66 non-championship race & this really is another reason why the 66 Mod IMOP is the
most historically correct Mod we have. :D
