How to make a track?

I'm creating a track, of course I had many problems but all were solved, mostly thanks to this topic and the gpl track creation guide. But I didn't find the solution for this one :
How can I add the groove.mip, and the grid mip ?
I put the groove.mip taken from silverstone in my folder but it doesn't seem to work - same for the grid, still showing the error.mip. I guess there's something to do with the .tex file, but ...
Maybe it's a noob question but can you tell me please ?
Thanks in advance,
Arthur

I'm learning how to make a circuit for GPL starting with my local track (Autódromo Nasif Estéfano, in Tucumán, Argentina), which is (actually was... the track is there but nobody uses it today) a rather short track of about 2.270 m long. I drove it in a regional autoracing category called Formula 4, and I enjoyed it a lot.
Well, I'm learning how to do it through some tutorials (especially those from AutoSimSport magazine) and currently doing the GTK with GPLTrk. I saved sattelital images of the track and I'm doing section by section, screenprinting and pasting that figures over the satellite image to compare my progress. I think it's a rather good way to do it, but I'm wondering if is there some better (or newer) software to do what I'm doing now. I saw Bobstrack builder for rFactor and I was just wondering it...
Any suggestion you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers and long live our GPL
Marcos.

This way you build your GTK layout in an almost perfect way layout wise.
Then you need the perfect elevations and for you being close to the track and having driven it it could be a piece of cake, really.
You can do a perfect job

Ciao Ginetto. Tante grazie!
I was just reading about GTK maker! But the link is down... Do you have the program to send it to me by e-mail? (well, or another link to download it)? I was trying to make the layout with GPLtrk but spent two days for nearly 1 km of track...
I'm learning our "Formula 1 mecánica argentina", that existed from 1962, using tubular argentine-designed and constructed chassis with Ford, Chevrolet and another engines built here. Well, I thought would be fantastic to have our tracks on GPL (knowing that a mod it's almost impossible).
Well, and my first attempt is my near-located Nasif Estéfano track.
Thanks a lot for your help!
Marcos.

Surely I'll asking something here again, hehe.
Thanks, Marcos.

Also trk23doZ has a rescale function to do in percent so you can write down the percent value that GTKmaker apply when you resize or just do the math by yourself

But the option to do it trk23doZ seems interesting. I'll investigate it. It's just a damn 1.00741% that I modified in a last-moment tweak...
Thanks again for your help.
