This will give you the full deep tree Monza addon up to (and including) Greg's: Monza North Banking Shell Sign Removal (post 412 of the very small addon for monza 2004 thread at RSC). This is all in a single dat so just make sure the monza folder has no extra files and allow it to overwrite the older dat. (Always make a backup of any files or folders you are going to modify ;) )

I was out of GPL and all other racing sims from 2003 to 2008 and so missed out on this outstanding update for Monza. Here is a very minor Voodoo card fix. Whoever was on that Monza team surely upgraded this track to a very high standard IMO.

I would like to know if this was the last significant update to Monza and if not would truely appreciate a link to the latest upgrade on top of this one.

kenny,

i think on rsc they had a bunch of files by "seegert" for monza:
"sunisura wall medium 08" - 194kb
"very nice monza 08 full" - 4.862kb
"very nice addon for monza last files" - 594kb
these were mostly about the billboards / pitlane area i think

then there was, of course, the
"steve life 7.0_north" update for monza - 7.749kb

and a bunch of pretty hires addon textures by culmone
"culmone v1.1" - 31.624kb

note, the latter had a rather nice but nevertheless quite wrong horizon for monza - wrong in that it was more suitable for an alpine track than monza which is actually in a rather flat area. in any case, this was a hires update with a few pretty textures, more to look good than be authentic, but still... also you may have to rework it for your vodoo/3dfx

i can upload these files here, but i do have a penchant for renaming the archives to my nomenclatura (eg. "tr_monza - addon textures <description / name of author here>.zip/rar") - that's why i quoted the sizes and the authors. i'm not even sure if i got all of it from rsc while it was still there or from around here.

besides, thanks for bringing this update uh up ;) - downloaded it as well and will see how it fits in with my current monza / monza10k install.
i suggest you get the monza10k track/update as well. it recreates the track seen in the "grand prix" movie from 1966 with james garner, etc. quite fun with the banking, and twice as long

Many thanks for these links,Gentlmen. :hat-tip:

I didn't realise Seegert was involved and that basically is what I'm seeking here. His historical accuracy is my main goal and anything that Monza team was involved in after the upgrade provided above by Keith is what I'm after.

kenny,

I'll add the 3 seegert files i mentioned above to this post. mind it might take a bit as my upload is pathetic.
in any case, i haven't got a readme for the any of the files - i assume there wasn't one to begin with as there was the thread, now perished with rsc, so i have to trust my memory and naming conventions from back then on this ;)

Do any updates replace the rectangular trees lining the back straight? Thanks.

Monza addon 08 full Seegert 3dfx version is here. All I can say is WOW! I believe my Monza folder now equals the quality of Zandvoort,Rouen and Mexico. My thanks to Seegert for his very worthy efforts.

Yes but at least you will be enjoying the view while your car is plunged in the air again after a crash

Steve Life's updates were still on the net a year or so ago, though I don't recall where (lost all those bookmarks to a HD crash on my old system early this year). If they're no longer out there, I believe I have most of them buried on CD.
