Seeing as there is a thread at RSC asking about it, here was my response:

As you may know, many people have tried to contact Magnus with no replies and his site has not been updated for quite a few months now.

Let me say that there is no way that Bill Cooper and I are saying it is all our work. I have to say that if we had not had Magnus' database to work from, this job would have been almost impossible at this date as some of the data would almost be impossible to find, so that's why it looks so similar. We knew that the community wants a working database and decided to go ahead with this project. We have been in communication with GPL++ (nenne) who kindly wrote a script to allow the links. Bapom (John Bradley) is also kindly helping and is willing to do loads of work which may or may not appear on the site. As GPLRank is updated by Magnus' database, I PM'ed Brian Wong and he told me to email GPLRank. We asked them what they need but have so far heard nothing and as we are not linked yet, the logo on GPLTD is wrong. We were hoping launch as soon as we had settled on the full structure and layout but......

The site may be changing as we fine tune/change the layout and finish puting all the links to the BAPOM stuff. The links to all the tracks and GPL++ are all working (we think) and it is up to date. We are hoping that we will be able to keep it fairly up to date as there is now more than one person responsible. Hope you guys like it.

Thanks for the comments guys. Just remember that if it hadn't been for Magnus this track database would have been a straight list with links.

What we do need help with is screenshots. I would ask if you're driving along a track if you could take some so that we may place them on the database. We want a combination of shots so we can make a single collage like the one on Edmonton. Thanks.

Dangermouse,

Thanks for the alternative DB. Magnus' version is such a great resource for the community. Hope he will be back soon.

Cross-checked your DB with my download list and I've got 2 possible recent additions that you are "missing".

A1 98 has had various updated alpha versions (v04a is the latest I have)

Stig - the BBC Top Gear track
