Spa graphics addon V2.0

There is no silly claim that this addon is historically accurate.
So, please. If you're historically anal, don't download this addon, and then snivel. :P

====================================================
Title : GPL Spa Texture Addon
Author : Scott (Scottie)
Description : Buildings, Trees & Misc. Texture Addons for Spa
====================================================
* Installation *

:!: *****Backup your entire Spa folder***** :!:

First.....Download Zeb's great update for Spa here. (if you don't already have it,
you're just plain wrong)

http://modif.speedge.../gpl/GPLgb1.htm

(check out his Bremgarten update while you're there)

Second.....Download and unzip all these files into your directory.
"C:\sierra\gpl\tracks\spa"

Let it overwrite any files it wishes to.

Third.....Start GPL, and cross your fingers.

===================================================
* Texture compatability *

Only tested in D3D.

===================================================
* Credits *

Mr. Edward Kinney.....A gentlemen, not even associated with GPL, who was generous enough to
allow his photoreal building and tree textures to be used in this update. Thanks ED!

KELLLAAA68.....Most of the building 3do's., and people graphics. (that look fantatsic!)

Dunky.....Who made the breathtaking sky and background.

Robert Hunter, Paul Jackson.....The most realistic hay bales I've seen.

Mark(uotymab).....Test driver for new graphics. Thanks mark!

Keith(ddangermouse).....Test driver for new graphics. Thanks Keith!

Tore (2re).....For all his exhausting work, with the 2004 track project.

And of course, Papy and the entire GPL community.
*Prost*!

Hey Scottie,

Great addon! Those textures :drool: :drool:

Just a question: why are there no lines in the sky, no clipping and objects are not flying in the air? :lol: :D :lol:

I don't think my PC is man enough for this :(
Tried it and in general apart from the startline area I got 34-36 frames/sec but then there were a few spots (top of Eau Rouge, top of Les Combes, Stavelot, La Carriere, exit of Blanchimant) where I got horrendous stutters, I was getting 0.5 frames/seconds for 3-4 seconds (i.e. in that time I saw just one or two frames)
Then I saw my Spa folder is now 75Mb! :!:

Still, I really like the grass and tarmac textures from a driving point of view as they give a much better contrast between track and grass so I can see where I'm going on the back section :punk: So tomorrow when I have time I'll probably get all the relevant textures and resize them and possibly convert them to 4bit and install them over Zeb's update so I can still at least in part enjoy this addon :)

Still, nevertheless, top work, you're a real artist Scottie. God forbid you ever get stuck into Monaco though :o :D :lol:
