Lately, the chat rooms have stopped working for me in Igor. It's not a major issue as I can see and join races just fine. I just feel a little rude as it makes me look like a terrible guest at a party... I turn up without saying hello, eat the food and drink the drinks and then leave without saying thank you or goodbye. At least there's the in-game chat.

Has anyone else got this issue? I've tried everything possible from within Igor itself.

look into igor.ini if the path to chat is set correctly

I was also having problems lately. Might be the cause GPLracers created a Discord channel. Other use Teamspeak

What does the GPLRACER discord channel have to do with iGOR chat?!

Sy, I typed on the street I meant you might started the channel to have an alternative to iGOR chat.

Now I understand how you meant it.

It had nothing to do with it.
I haven`t noticed any problems with iGOR chat yet (last time I used it was two days ago).

When I start iGor I normally see a race list within a couple of seconds, but it may take over a minute to connect to chat, sometimes even longer.
It has been like that for years.

I have same problem with chat. It takes about a minute to establish connection. More notes. I have Win 7 here. When I run iGOR I see servers in the race list but all ping info shows '9999'. But when I run iGOR with administrator rights ping info for servers is back but chat couldn't connect.

In Linux the chat is immediately there - but the ping is allways 9999

The linux  dedicated servers will soon loose the hosting "driver" - so you recognize them by drivers "0/20"

Does the iGOR server runs under linux too?

Forgot to add that under Win XP iGOR shows ping and chat works.

chat in igor is not working here too.

if chat is not working, its likely your settings as iGor chat IS working for others
i'd say check your nickname (Both 1st and 2d) in  IGor / options / IRC .... NO SPACES should be in your names

Brilliant! That fixed it. I removed the spaces and all is well in the world. (Well, almost ;( )
