Hi all,

I don't know if this has been asked before, if it has: my apologies for not searching well enough.

GPL has been running smoothly ever since I rediscovered it after some years. I have been running the original game and the 1955, 1965 and 1969X-mods.

Somehow, when I fired up GPL (69X, Montjuic) today, it seemed to work fine, but it stops working when I try to return to the pits. This is what happens:

I hit <escape>  and <enter>
The screen turns black for some seconds as usual
Then the screen turns very dark blue and the usual sounds (replays, other cars) are audible but I can't see the control screen.

After some clicking with the mouse and/of pushing escape, the game crashes and returns tot the GEM+ - window.

This happens in the 69X-mod (Montjuic, Monaco, Monza) but also in the original GPL.

Any ideas/solutions?
Any help is appreciated!

With heavy tracks there is sometimes a problem with the memory for the replay,
try some + - values in the core.ini

[ Replay ]
replayMemoryOverride = 128000

Thanks for your input.

However, I has something to do with a new Windows update. Everything works fine after putting back the previous Windows-version.

I don't know what exactly causes the trouble but maybe it might have something to do with the setting that controls transparacy. When startingup Windows, It struck me that my startup screen, which is a photo, was blurred. Maybe it would also have worked to change that setting to get GPL working again....

Hi hgrm. Did you notice if the Win 10 update changed your graphics drivers? Some people have reported in the past that their drivers have changed, and that can cause problems until they can get the graphics settings back the way they were before the update.

Also, there's a fairly new feature in recent editions of Win 10 called "Focus Assist", and that can cause problems with GPL. Try going to "PC Settings"/"System"/"Focus Assist" and making sure the feature is turned off and see if that helps.

Apart from that, I'm afraid it might be a bit like searching for a needle in a haystack. Good luck! :crossfingers:

If all else fails, you might also try this solution (running GPL with Fraps or something similar):
