Hello all ... I am seeking some information.  I just finished a stand alone install of the Tasman Series...1965 thru 68... what I can't figure out is what file commands or looks for the correct track program (xxx0.pbf) for a specific year carset ? Thanks in advance...

That would be the mod-patched version of the gpl.exe donor file.

So......... unless I have separate installs for each Tasman year ... each Tasman car set year must use the same program for each track regardless of car set year.... correct ?

OR

Do you mean, for example.... GPLT64.exe for the 64 Tasman carset.... and so on ...  if that is the case then the page0.pbf for that carset might be page064.pbf ??

Yes.  If you have a physics set for a Tasman Mod, then those physics files will make a Tasman gpl Mod exe file that will "call" .... for example: page0TA.pbf and bwpicTA.pbf (if the Tasman Mod uses 'TA' as an identifier)

So if you have 'yearly' Tasman races you will need separate installs by year.  Unless, you get someone to mod the patching file to have identifiers something like: T1, T2, T3, etc for the various years.  Then, you would only need Tasman gpl Mod exe files by year in the root GPL folder. ;)

So Keido's Tasman carsets do create their own patched exe files gplt64.exe ... gplt68.exe but they reuse the patch physics etc. from the 1965 and 1967 mods.

Tasman 1964, 65. 66 use the F1 1965 physics  program file = page065.pbf
Tasman 1967, 68 use the F1 1967 physics. program file = page067.pbf

So if you have all the tasman carsets  together in one install you will only see these 2 program covers across the 5 years.

Greg is (of course) correct that patches could be developed to get around this.  My preference would be to stick to the page06x.pbf naming convention for the program covers since the Tasman Cup was THE "F1" series that raced at all these tracks, so there would be no clash with any of the F1 mod years.

Tasman 1969 car set will use the F1 1969 physics. program file = page069.pbf

Great .... Thanks to Greg and Webfoot for clarifying that ... I think I'll do seperate installs for each year as I have done for all others.. I have a feeling that as time goes by interest in the Tasman series will increase and tracks/physics/etc will improve... I'll do what I can to help... Thanks again...
