What language?
You should copy the GPL.exe from the disk if you have it.

Can you start it by not using GEM but click on the gplexe. in the GPL folder?

Maybe just re-install GEM+/iGOR?
Uninstall all or delete Secrets first?

I had the same problem. I fix it deleting all the gpl*.exe and replacing the original gpl.exe from a backup (I could use the gpl.exe from the original disk, too...). Once starting GEM+, all the *.exe were rebuilding and everything works fine now.

Hi Guys thanks for the Responses, I could not reinstall GEM+ , cause it did not find the exe's in the GPL Folders.
I will try to re-install the GPL .exe from the Disc, I still have that one I bought when it came out new in 1998.
Thanks Thadx

You can find the Gem+ uninstall .exe in the GPL Secrets folder on your C drive or which ever lettered drive your gpl is installed to.
You won't find it in your GPL folder.

Hi Marco yes it looks like I have to uinstall GEM+ first. I copied the GPL.exe from my Disc to my GPL Folder to replace the one I have.
Than I tried to reinstall GEM+ again but I still got the same Error: There is no GPL exe in that Folder.
Silly. But I can start the Game thru the 55 or 67 GPL. exe's manually.

Next step now is to uninstall the GEM+ Package, Iguess and then re-install it again.

Greetings
Thadx

Sorry to mention, but did you also try to set the path again to the gpl.exe in GEM+?

JMO, delete the GPL Secrets folder and per post #6 delete all GPL Mod EXEs in main folder, as all that will be re-created with new install and new configuration and path-setting once GEM+ can be opened.

Then un-install and re-install GEM+.

It has been a long time since noticing any mention of a corrupt Papy gpl.exe.

Otherwise, maybe check into rolling back the system update?

To get on iGOR and drive on-line, unless this has been updated, change igor.ini to new address: igor.gplrank.info

Ok, so I took out all the modded GPL.exe's ( 55&67 ). I only kept the original GPL.exe from 1998 in the GPL Folder. I uninstalled GEM+ and than re-installed it, that means I tried; because I got the same Error message again : no Exe file in the Folder.

So I put my modded exe Files back in the GPL Folders. In this way I can at least Play GPL with all mods, I just have to start it manually from the Folder.

I don't want to delete everything and start from Scratch at the Moment.
If someone has another Idea pls let me know.

The error message appears during the re-install?
Or GEM+ will not open and offers the error message?
Or GPL will not start when clicking the green button in GEM+ and then you get the error message?

Delete GPL Secrets folder before re-install?
If GEM+ rebuilds the Mod.exes it will know where it put them.
:)

Not a GEM+ expert btw

Hi Thadx. What GPL installer did you use ? I had a similar problem when I had to reinstall GPL after my hard drive failed. I had a backup and installed it on the new HD, reinstalled GEM+ and it would not open. Nothing worked till I installed version 1.08 GPLPS installer over my current GPL install and then installed GEM+ . Turned on GEM+ and I let it rebuild all the .exe's. You can find the installer here   https://gplps.wordpr...-gpl-installer/
I hope this helps.

Hi Marco, I did not try the Installer again yet. This might be helpful.

John, the error message appears during the Installation Process when you have to tell it the Path for the GPL.exe.

I gonna try it with reinstall the GPL Installer I have 1.08.

I will let you Guy's know.

If I was you I would have deleted everything and started over with a fresh install. If you decide to do that. Get a new install of GPl with no mods installed. No GEM either. Get GPL just the way you want in updates. Tracks, cars and any utilities. Also your setups installed. Once you get it exactly the way you want it. Copy the whole GPL folder and save it.

The next time GPL get porked and it will. Just copy in your saved GPL folder and start with a new install. Over the years I must have used my saved GPL 25 times. A lot of times I want to try a mod. I'll try it and if I get tired of it or just don't like it. I'll delete the GPL folder and copy in my saved GPL. I can do it in the amount of time it took you to start this thread.

I have no patience for a GPL install that doesn't work perfect. I just delete, copy/paste and i'm smiling again.

Yes, what Pete says is also my way ;)

+
I save my tracks folder with all working tracks, these can be activated by GEM in any new/saved GPL install
