So finally the F308 is finished, well sort of anyway.. I could surely fiddle along with this one for ages, but youll have to finish things off sometime too.. Im satisfied with the way she looks now and thats the right time to release.. if any.. Posted Image

As Ive said at first when I posted a few pics just for fun, this mod was never intended to be released from the beginning.. I started with this one just to see if it was possible, and if so to give the car to a friend of mine. Hes a real tifosi and he has been grinding his teeth in despeir, being forced to drive the Loti to be real competitive.
Well, now hes gonna have a F308 instead.. :bandana1:
---------
It has been a lot harder and one hell of a lot more work to do than I ever could have
imagined when I started doing this mod. As I said, it was not intended to be released
initially, but as people have been encurageing me to release her, I decised to give it a go, but that also raised the bar a "wee" bit.

My teammates have asked me to release the F308 our team Dark Heat Racings homepage. And it would have been rude for me to say no.. It will be uploaded here too in a few days though.. But for now, youll find the F308 here.. [Link Broken: file attached below]
-------------------------
Edit: Ive been made awere thay some of you might have had some problems finding the mod at the link above (donno why though), so now you can find it at the bottom of this post too..

But please visit our site anyway. Youll find some more fun stuff there too Posted Image
---------------------------
I would really like to thank Walt and all the rest of you guys here for your encouragement and the support you have given me..Sometimes it has felt as this whole project has been "mission impossible", and without that support those times I would probably have given up on this..

I raise my glass to you..Thanks, mates..

Cheers
/Peter

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:
This mod is based on the work from:

Papy
Gplea
Jackseller
Totoro
Doug Hardy
Scottie
JB Viking
Cerezo
CityTea

I would really like to thank Gplea and all of these great artists mentioned above for their permission to use and modify their files to fit the Lotus. And a special thanks to Scottie, who not only let me use his mirrors, he was also kind enough to put the "objects" in them. But youll have to blame me and my old eyes for the red colourscaling though.. And of course also cred to my teammate Markus Ekblad, for modifing the carcam file to the F308.

Also thanks to:
Klaus Horbrand...................................WinMip2.
Paul Hoad/Phil Flack..........................GplEditor.
Lee Bowden/Stefan Magnusson.......GPL Image Viewer.

And of course cred to the guys who helped me with BETA testing. If I somehow have happened to miss out on anyone in the credits list, Im sorry about that and cred to you too.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The files Ive modified are originally the work of these original authors:

The files I´ve modified are originally the work of these original authors:

Unmodified but renamed files used:

driver overalls...................................JB Viking/Cerezo
Ferrari wheels / stearingwheels.....Gplea

I've also used pipe3.mip (hi rez) from the Gplea Loti.

And on top of that some 3do editing. Changing colour on the windscreen and the gauges neadles, which also needed to be moved to fit the Ferrari dash.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yes, you´re quite right, there, mate. I´ve been sleepin like a log the last two days..
I usually don´t..  But it was pretty intence the last week of this project, but hey that´s me in a nutshell..

I take pride in finish off my projects, and I put all of my heart and soul into them to do just that. And just as you said in the "teaser thread", when it comes to my projects or job, I´m a perfectionist and I can´t let go before I´m satisfied.

It doesn´t matter if I´m working with my bikes, Gpl-stuff or whatever. I sort of attack every kind of project/job in this way.. Either you do it good.. or not at all..

But this one was so ´effin hard to get right/finish off, it really drained me. But today I´m up and kickin´again, so I was thinkin about working with my bike today. But now we´ve got ourself this nice little snowstorm here.. so Peter thinks he might stay at home today instead.  :)

Thanks for all your kind words and your support a long the way, mates.. You rock..  :bandana1:

Cheers
/Peter

Hi mates :)

I noticed that it´s pretty hard some times to see if you´ve got a F308 or F312 behind or ahead of you at a bit of distance, so I made a new nose for the F312 (Ferrari) and "borrowed" the black exhaust mip from CityTea to solve the problem.

That said, if you use the F308..:)
-----
Here´s 2 pics from Laguna Seca.. Me driving the F308, Robert the F312..
Attached File  Fez_312_with_black_nose_in_F308_mirror.jpg   34.44K   381 downloads Attached File  Fez_312_black_nose_and_exhaust.jpg   30.61K   429 downloads

And here´s the files to put in your Ferrari folder if you like what you see.

Ferrari_312_36v_v3.0_nose_and_exhaust_alternatives.zip

These files are hi-rez and not voodoo compatible

Just unzip to wherever you want to, but I would suggest you to unzip the folder "Ferrari 312 36v v3.0 nose and exhaust alternatives" with it´s 2 subfolders direct into your Ferrari folder. And then just drag&drop the files you want to use..;) :)
-----
And finally a pic of me doing a shakedown test in Walt´s new Fez at Kyalami.. :bandana1:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Thanks for your kind words, Caspar :)

This is a mod for Gpl 67, and you have all the info you´ll need in the ReadMe, but here´s some part´s of it that should answer your (and perhaps other folk´s) questions, mate..

Quote

--------
F308 grafics mod based on the Gplea Lotus 49 V3.1
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DESCRIPTION:
The zip contains one folder named F308 V1.0 where you´ll find the files and three option folders. These files will convert your Gplea Lotus 49 V3.1 into a "Ferrari" 308.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INSTALLATION:
Before you can use these files you´ve got to have the Gplea`s Lotus 49 V3.1 installed first. The standard version..
-----
Unzip the zip file into whatever directory you might want to. Then just copy the files and the option folders from the F308 V1.0 folder and drop them in to your Lotus folder (Usually placed here: C:\SIERRA\Gpl\cars\cars67\lotus), and you´ve got yourself a new F308.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DISCLAIMER:
These files should not harm your computer in any way. Use them at your own risk.
These files are tested on a few different rigs in Direct3D and they work fine.

Some of of these files are hi-res and therefore NOT Voodoo-compatible.

This is not a Papyrus/Sierra product. This is freeware.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In other words.. You should get the same performance with the F308 as with the Gplea cars with hi-rez textures, Caspar..

Have fun!

Cheers
/Peter

Hi folk´s :bandana1:

I`ve made this new carcam to the F308..

This is the carcam that I always wanted to have with the F308 from the start. But my friend and teammate Markus, who made the original carcam for the F308 didn´t really understand what I ment.. Or to be more truthfully.. I guess I couldn´t explane to him what I really wanted..

But since then I´ve tried out and learned how this Gplcarcam proggie works and I think these new angles will give you some interesting views. These new viewes are ment to be good racing views and you will only see the whole car in TV1 and TV2, which I think is quite enough..

This carcam can (of course) be renamed and used in the other cars too, but it won´t really fit them though. But I´m just about to start making the same kind of carcams (views/angles) as this one got, but that fit the other cars too..

That said.. if you like this one.. ;)
----------------------------------------
And the file..
Attached File  F308_new_carcam.zip   1.2K   179 downloads

Have fun..

Cheers   :)
