My current activities and the remaining workload mean that it will be a few weeks yet [ just a few ] before this track can be released.

I know that some of you have waited patiently without complaint for a good while, so I thought I would release early, the two Readme's and Driving Guide I have made for it, which are now in mature draft form.

NOTE: TO SEE THE DETAIL IN THE UTILITY PAGES  MAKE SURE YOUR PDF IS READING AT 200%

There is a lot of information in these, very carefully prepared, for I want people who attempt to drive the track to obtain the most enjoyment from that experience.

If you are a reader and like detail, there is something here for you.

If you would rather just wait for the track and just drive, fair enough, but I suggest you might like to at least give the OPTIONS MANAGER Readme a quick glance, to see how it can be customized to your tastes.

Enjoy.

All the best from down under.

Jim :)

Thank you, Jim.  :)

I look forward to reading something with a topic that is more appealing to me than that 448 page tome that our government has provided to us.  ;)

Edit:  Oh man!!  I thought that the track build was a labor of love.  The two documents provided here are extremely in-depth and well made.  This is a great read.  Thanks, again, Jim.

Edit 2:  Admins ... please 'pin' this topic.  Thanks.

Thanks a lot, Jim ! :)

My heart jumps and I will certainly reconnect my steering wheel, something I haven't done in years...

A great greeting from a little above.

Gracious Jim !

The track itself will be THE DOWNLOAD OF THE CENTURY I think, but the added detail in your files given above will make it even more superlative
.
Many, many thanks for your fourteen years of work.

My only worry is to wonder how you will cope with no longer having  such a project to work on.  Perhaps you might start on a " Round Australia" road track ? - that shouldn't take you very long....?

:partytime:
:thankyou:

Just a little light reading indeed! A fantastic glimpse behind the work involved over your 14 year project Jim, and a fantastic resource, along with Ken Murray's notes, for learning the IOM TT course.

Also, perfectly timed for us to enjoy reading it, learn more about the history of the course and the ways that we will be able to run it, and with enough time to learn the track ahead of time :)

Thank you Jim for all the hard work. Blood sweat and tears. Really can't wait and looking forward to this release. Woohoo πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ‘

Wonder if it's on similiar lines to this 'Isle Of Man Rider On The Edge' track.

What's coming next 1000 mile Mille Miglia 😁😁

No seriously your a superstar Jim and 'Cheers Matey'
Would love to put a classic GPL Norton, BSA or Triumph on it πŸ€”πŸ‘‹

I certainly hope you have a decent data plan with your Internet provider, because as soon as you announce this is ready for download you are going to break the internet..

I discovered GPL, Left, got married bought up kids and re joined the fold during this project. I can't imagine the satisfaction you must feel to be reaching the end of this journey.

John.

I shall open this page on my iPad in a bit so I can import those PDF's into iBooks for portable reading.

Can't wait Jim! Your original Isle of Man was the first track I ever drove in GPL.

The track will be released on Jim`s homepage but the track installer itself will most likely be hosted on my domain.
So we will break the Australian and the German internet. :D

What a great news. :partytime:

I love this track so much, in its 1st version, that I imagine it will be a huge slap in the face when I finally get to drive on this new one.

I know what I'm going to be able to read tonight before I go to bed. :coffee:

The final release will be another amazing milestone for the entire GPL community, the amount of work and time that is put into projects like this is just breathtaking.

Thanks Jim! I'll start reading the pdfs soon. I recently fractured my forearm (radius) so reading is one of the few things I can actually do.

I wondered if this track would ever be released. I'm very impressed that you've continued to work on it for so long. It made me sad at times thinking this may never be released and all the work you had done would be be for naught.

I admire your patience, skill, and determination. Thank you for all you have done for us and GPL.
