Just sitting here reading through the TASMAN carset thread from 10 years ago after seeing the Phillip Island release and it got me to thinking... Has anyone driven EVERY track publicly released for GPL? I know there's ones that aren't public like the Goodwood Hillclimb one from many years ago (would love to see that one) but of the publicly available tracks, has anyone driven every single one?

I was considering giving it a go as a challenge. Do a lap of every single track. Was thinking a short RACE at them at, but if I recall some of the ones from my previous tenure as a GPL'er didn't have AI.

It will take you longer to download all of them.

The only time I drove addon tracks was when I raced in a lot of leagues.

Many did.
It's also a challenge at GPLrank called TotalRank; it consist in driving the 525 tracks released in their final stage (no beta or alpha) so they all have working AI.
And if you want to spend some more time, you can also try the Monster of TotalRank which is every track in every chassis available... :)

I might be close to it, but on some it won't be more than a couple of corners especially with alpha and beta tracks. And then there are the 'duplicate' tracks, where there is an old version that has became obsolete because other trackbuilders released a much better version.

But I do have a complete backup of every track on gpltd on an external harddrive, with every update I could find.

Don't know why but Daytona 1967 is missing, and that's not a new track?

Okay work to do, Happy lapping :drive:

:yikesss: Was looking at GPLRank again yesterday trying to remember how the heck to upload stuff from outside the original 11 tracks. I really don't remember (It's been probably 15 years since I used it.)

Given if I don't have a project or something going these days to distract me my PTSD flares up badly so this could be a fun project. TOTAL. Not MONSTER. Yet. I've not even got MONSTER on the original 11. Good to know final means AI.

Good stuff! I wish there was a big archive I could download of all the tracks instead of doing it individually. Better still to just slap them straight into my GPL directory.

Impressive! It says 3 are missing though. Guessing they're maybe after you did it?

Regardless, I think I must make a start on this.

Mine requires work: http://gplrank.schue...tail=12,1,15194

2006 was my last upload.

It would be a 6GB download, which isn't too crazy nowadays ofcourse. But I don't think every trackbuilder would appreciate it if someone else uploads their tracks. Some tracks even have their own site dedicated to them with historic info and credits of everyone who worked on it.

That's what keeps me from uploading the archive, otherwise I would love to share it.

That's complete fair and absolutely understandable.

I stuck a new time up for the first time in 13 years yesterday. Decided to get the Targa Florio out the way. 42 minute lap which was two over where I hoped to be but I had to reset several times, and went orienteering in several spots.

Can I just say that the effort of making the track, and the track itself is AMAZING from a design standpoint. However I had very little fun driving it. It's all "accelerate, brake, second gear corner, accelerate, brake, second gear corner". Whereas say Spa feels like an adventure and that you're going somewhere the actual Targa route just feels like a stop start commute. The high spots were going through the towns.
