Thanks everybody.

Would you get Lewis Hamilton sitting down in the dirt and up against the advertising boards today. Aka Graham Hill.

Also a bit mythed about the tire types. Always thought they raced on grooves and wet/Inters came in later, with the smooth dry tires ?

Reading on Wikipedia about the 68 season and seeing that it was Dan Gurney who brought in the Full face helmet, in this year.

I think 60s wet tyres had different compounds and tread patterns to dry tyres but would have looked pretty similar.

Interesting when announcer said it is character of Lotus to lose stability under braking.

Thanks TP.
Began watching thinking of just checking it out then had to stick it out until the end.

It's a fantastic scrap around 40 min between Hulme and Ickx.

The health and safety got a bit dangerous, on the low loader procession ramp, at the end.

At one point I thought Rob Walker was going to go over 😁

There's even  a "DAN GURNEY" on the track. It's can be seen several times. One good view is at 1:00:44.
Thanks for the link.

First time I've heard Rob Walker speak. What a gentleman, he sounded so genuine. I like how he asked for his other half to join in on the low loader for the victory procession. I've wondered how the Rob Walker - Siffert (and Bonnier before that) racing relationship worked? Did Walker own the chassis outright and Siffert lease it and had it prepped by Walker's team or did Siffert bring the funds to buy the car and then paid for Rob Walker to run it? Just curious.

Yes, it's a real shame the Eagle barely got going. 1968 in F1 must have been so frustrating for AAR. The writing was on the wall.

The exuberance of the young Ickx is brilliant, he was wringing the Ferrari's neck as was Amon upfront. I know the YT label says 'full race' but I'm sure there's an edit in it. I watched very closely and I don't recall seeing how Siffert got back past Amon. I definitely saw Amon go past but then after a quick cut, Oliver had retired unseen and Siffert was in front. The DFV had the torque out of the corners, you could see it. Amon had his work cut out to keep up. Cracking duel. Siffert was very determined indeed!
