can anyone tell me what program gave me this option?

at the bottom of the image, circled in RED are text showing what GEAR i'm in and SPEED
at the far left, tho nothing shows, is where when the ESC key is pressed you see "press return to exit"  (back to garage).. in the default install the text size is same as resolution, for me using 19##  x  12##   it is SMALL... but somehow i was able to change that font SIZE to a little larger so it could be read <<< obviously, i know what it says and what i have to do, but i would like to know HOW DID I CHANGE the Font SIZE?!

in reinstalling GPL (so far successfully) i am at a loss to remember what gave me the options shown circled in RED.. any help?

I'm 95% sure that would be the "Digital Display Modifier" patch. I haven't used it myself for a long time, but see this thread & Ginetto's post for some more info: http://srmz.net/inde...10

Edit: There's also a setting for the GPL font size in GPLSHIFT.INI if you're using that.

Edit 2: I just tried to run DDM to see exactly what effect it has on my display, but unfortunately when I tried to install it using the "setup.exe" program, Windows 10 tells me "This app can't run on your computer". :(

thanks... i'll give it a go.
i'm on win10 and it works (on old install) but when i've just re-installed so who knows if it will work.
i'll let you know- maybe just copy over the old settings? (prob not) :P

ok!
got it
installed it
it works!

just be sure to 'save' before exit and make sure you got the top left box (digital) checked (not analog)
i think... anyway, the bottom one of the two :P

but its GREAT to have it again.. eye's not being what they once were, the larger font AND seeing what gear i'm in ;)
thanks for the link.. and try again - like i said, i'm on w10 and no problem (just be sure and get the latest DL)

"... maybe just copy over the old settings?"

Digital Display Modifier modifies the Mod exe (or the GPL exe before GEM+ patching)

Bo, thanks for providing the link to the alternative DDM download. I unzipped that directory onto my hard drive and tried it out and it works fine.

I did a few tests with it, but for me it doesn't really add any extra functionality. I'm already using the digital readouts provided by Pribluda, and I don't need bigger text. Also DDM seems to have a negative effect on my framerates, so I think I'll give it a miss. I'm glad that it's doing a good job for you though!

"Also DDM seems to have a negative effect on my framerates..."

That is what I found on my install, too.  I don't race online, I don't use Pribluda and I don't use DDM.  :)

To see what gear i'm in I look at...........................the gear lever. :D

Actually, that's what I did before getting an H-shifter.

Some mods, like the '55 F1 and the CanAm '71, do not display a gear shifter unfortunately. I go with memory and try to learn the arm movements to get which gear I'm actually in with those cars.

The advantage of using an H-shifter.
