I wondered if there are any programme collectors on here?  I should say first of all that I'm not a collector, but I have a friend who has a large number of old programmes which he's asked me to try and sell for him.  (Please note - this isn't an 'for sale' advert in the wrong place!).  Having sifted through a few this morning, as a 1967 GPL addict, there were some that caught my eye straight away.  Most are British and he has more than one of some of them.

Just searched ebay for "racing event programs" and note there aren't many offered.
Perhaps check with reputable expert about value as these seem to be very rare?

At one time had this one but now have no idea what happened to it: 1965 Indy 500
(Of course mine didn't have Jimmy's signature).

Guess my advice would be buy all you can or advise friend to keep them in a vault.

I've done a quick recce on Ebay as well but the ones pictured seem to be surprisingly common.  I haven't been able to find this one though......

He has some diecasts as well, but sadly without boxes.  Two Corgi Sharknose Ferraris but also this rather strange offering - completely in plastic of some kind which has no identifying marks at all.....

I know what you mean - he has 20-30 from Goodwood alone.  I might be tempted to have one of the 67 Silverstone programmes for myself......  ;)

I searched "worldwide all categories" and results only shows 48 programs altogether and none are those shown?
Does seem kind of low number actually.

John, if you search for the programmes individually, say 'British Grand Prix 1967', you get specific results.  The one from Crystal Palace in 1937 doesn't feature at all, either in the for sale or completed listings (which are the ones I'm tending to look at to get an idea of value.

They don't bring as much money as I thought they would. Here's a couple of examples.

No, you're right Pete, I was surprised that 50, 60 even 70 and 80 year old programmes don't seem to fetch all that much.....

You might get more money at a Motor Auction if you need to move them on. I'd save them rather than get nothing for them.

Not my decision as such Andy, I don't own them.  I'll have a go selling a few and if the owner isn't happy with the return, I'll retire gracefully......   ;)

When you look around at pricing ... I have a 1979 Monaco program that I purchased there.  It has the winner's signature over his photo - Jody Scheckter.  There are some notes and timings penned in on the appropriate pages, too

Always wondered what it might bring on the bidding market.  ;)

If you decide to sell through auction put a reserve on them. If you wouldn't want to sell them for less than £100 then put that as the reserve.

Hi,

I have been collecting the 1967 F1 ones for my father for the last 6-7 years and I have paid from 10 to 150 €.
Some are appearing very often, while others are extremely rare. And that is just for 1967...

Right now I am only missing Kyalami. Last addition was Mexico this Xmas after only 6 years of search

Kind regards,
Gaizka

I hope this post doesn't breach forum rules (mods feel free to remove it if it does), but these programmes are now for sale on eBay as per the owner's instructions.  Here's a link to the first of them.

https://www.ebay.co....984.m1555.l2649

I just thought members might be interested.
