this is not a problem, the goal is to compare GPL times with Historic v2 times in same conditions

This will be more doable for the average GPL racer. Aliens, of course, will beat it by a bunch.

Ola

1) you must download and install Python ( small informatic language : 72Mo)
https://www.python.org/

2) put Rank_67x in the player's folder

3) double click on rank_67x to create your collected_rank_x.ini

Now... I'm wondering

Having the laptimes from the different carsets in a single .ini, is it possible to add this rank to gplrank?

Marcos

I mean... this (together with an installer and some details) would be a great advance in the diffusion of this mod.

Are you sure you have Python 2.7 and be careful that there are 2 versions 32 or 64 bits depending on what you have for windows ?

Hello Roo,
Try to uncomment to last two lines (179 & 180) in the rank_67x.py by :

print "\nBye <o:)"
raw_input("Press ENTER to exit")

Then, tell me whether any error appear or no ? :)

Are you sure you have install Python 2.7 ?

Other stuff:
If there is any issue with return or line break while opening the result file in windows (using notepad.exe for example).
Try to replace each \r by \r\n in the rank_67.py

Best,
ToM

thanks Tom, ed

i had python 3.7 installed
i must say it was by no means clear that it was so important to have python v2.7, I figured the most recent version would work too

useful tools, thanks. now i will need to work on my times :)

There is a difference in synthax between 3 and 2 which breaks programs.

Now that the GPL Rank website is up again, does anyone know if we will see a Historic V2 rank? Or even know where any times from V2 have been posted? I'd love to be able to compare my times with those of good drivers.

The Groundhog website here: http://freeleo.hu/we...d announcements has several custom ranks (in the "C-RANK" section) for the 1967 F1 cars. There is the original GPL track set, with Rouen. There's a second authentic 1967 F1 season track set, with Le Mans Bugatti instead of Rouen.

But there is also a rank they've called F1-1967x, which includes all the 1967 Grand Prix races, and some non-points-scoring races too. This includes Kyalami, Brands Hatch (Race of Champions), Monaco, Syracuse (GP di Siracusa), Zandvoort, Spa (new version), Bugatti, Silverstone, Nurburgring, Mosport, Oulton Park (Gold Cup), Monza, Jarama (1968 Spanish GP test event), Watkins Glen and Mexico.

You can upload your "PLAY67.INI" file from the 1967 Extra online carset, and the site will store your laptimes and compare them to other drivers. Not many drivers have uploaded laptimes yet, I'm not sure if that's because the 67x online carset is still fairly new, or maybe drivers here at SRMZ are not aware of the Groundhog custom ranks. But if more drivers join in, it would definitely improve things. Have a chat with Jani (fajanko) about registering and getting a password (I think Roo co-admins the site too), and maybe I'll see your laptimes appearing soon.
