I wanted to do a "rank" with the historical mod V2
but I had to make sure that the time for Kyalami was done with a Carset 1 car, that of Monaco with Carset 2 ... etc.

I have edited and modified the 7 67-extra n.cst

PlayerFile = plax67 becomes PlayerFile = pla167 for 67-extra 1.cst
PlayerFile = plax67 becomes PlayerFile = pla267 for 67-extra 2.cst
... etc

calculate rank :
for Kyalami the time is therefore in pla167
for Monaco the time is therefore in pla267
...
for Mexico the time is thus in pla767
********************************************************************

the laptimes at Mosport Rain are about those of Mosport + 5s
so for the  GPL benchmark of Mosport Rain : 1mn28s
and GPL Rank : 25mn05s263

files if you don't have install "setup extensions update"

Ed, you don't appear to be using the correct carset files for the '67 Historical mod V2. Did you download and install the extra file ("Setup Extensions Update.rar") from the original mod post, when you originally installed the mod? http://srmz.net/inde...80

That update not only fixes the file extensions for each car's setups, but it also ensures that carsets 1-7 save their laptimes in pla167.ini to pla767.ini. When I look at the files you've uploaded above, you've repeated the change to the player file, but the updates for the car setups are not in there.

If someone with the mod + "Setup Extensions Update.rar" installs your files above, I think they will lose access to their car setups in GEM. Please check the carset files you have installed, and if you don't have the update file installed, try installing it. My hunch is that you'll find that your update is unnecessary.

EDIT: Hang on, something isn't right here. I've just checked the original update file and it does NOT have the changes to pla167.ini - pla767.ini! And yet my '67 Hist mod V2 saves player files separately for each carset! I'm checking where I updated my mod, please stand by........

EDIT2: Ok, I can't find any set of .cst files which have both the player .ini file changes and the setup extension changes in them. I must have updated my installation of the mod manually. However, Ed has now included the setup extension changes in his update below and this should fix both problems. Thanks Ed!

yes , now they are 7 plax67 , each carset have 1 (pla167 , pla267 , ... , pla767)
I will have a rank 67 , and I want to be sure that the chosen time has not been done for example with a Lotus "cosworth engine" for Kyalami.

Thanks for this Ed. A 1.20 at Kyalami will be tough in the Lotus 43, but the Kyalami rank was always hard in the slower cars.

Did you use Monacane for the Monaco rank? Spa67 for the Spa rank?

Yes, it is. Watch the real race at Monaco. They would brake and gear down for the chicane. You can go flat out in 5th gear in the Papy Monaco. How is that better? Besides the Historical V2 mod is Monacane. The rank should match the tracks in the mod.

I still think the Kyalami rank is too fast. Carset one cars are much slower than the Papy cars. Only the aliens will beat the rank. No matter to me, but I think they'll be complaints. What did you use to set the rank times?

For the "chicane", in an interview, Bandini said that it passed in 5e. In fact, Monaco "Pappy" is too fast and Monacane too slow.

If we compare the times of the 1967 poles with the rank, Kyalami is the most unrealistic, 9% away in favor of the rank!

I put 2 sets of values, the poles 1967 and the GPL's benchmarks
the fact that some times are difficult to reproduce is compensated by other very easy ones like Spa67.
To calculate a rank "seriously", it would take the laptimes of many pilots

It's your thing, so i'll just go along. I'm sure I can beat all the times, but i'm not much of a hot lapper. I like to use my full GP race times as my rank, because I know I can repeat them at any time. That seems like a more realistic way to judge someone's speed. One lucky hot lap that can't be repeated doesn't show much. That's personal though and I doubt anybody else does that. I know you have a race time rank, but someone can set those in a 5 lap race and that's just like hot lapping.

btw..Did Bandini make that statement for the 67 race? Must have been during qualifying. He sure didn't go through the chicane in 5th gear for the 67 race. Videos show that. It's a historic mod. the tracks should be as historic as possible. Don't you think?

Anyway, thanks for doing the rank with the proper carsets for each track. It will make a big difference in the times turned. Most of the cars got faster as the season progressed.

Would be great if gplrank guys could include this rank in there.
When I was trying to help Jani Posta to include ranks for the 67x in his custom rank there was something of the mod itself that complicated it... but do not remember now what...

what really complicated it is that there was only one player.ini and that several cars used the same slot .

some examples :
Lotus 43 (BRM) and Lotus 49 (cosworth) so we could not know with which the PB had been made
The Ferrari 312 is heavier at the beginning of the season but how to know if the PB in Kya was not made with the "light" ferrari of Kyalami 68
... etc

by cons what goes complicated here is that it will be necessary to record the 7 players in GPLRank .

it would be great to have a program able to read them and make a single file with only the PB of the 11 tracks.
it would be enough to send this file to GPLRank.

I compared the times of SPA67 with those of SPA,
it would be necessary to increase the benchmark for this track from 3mn20,134 to about 3mn26.
What do you think ?

I agree. It's a much slower track.

I still think Kyalami should be raised some too.
