Over the years of driving GPL, I’ve been curious about how cars within each mod compare.  So I compiled info about weight, top speed, etc.  Finally I put it all together into one place to share with a friend.

So we're thinking that there might be one or two other people who might be interested in all of this.

So I created this Excel spreadsheet with all the specs.  In addition, I have compared all the cars with each other (sorted by HP, speed, weight and so on).

Enjoy.

Great info here Bob. Thanks for sharing it with us.

EDIT: I've just used the info about the 1955 Mod setup extensions to create a fix for GEM. :D

Thanks Bob! Very handy! :)

Did you test it yourself with the default setups?

I tested the top speeds over a full lap at Smogbank.  I used lower fuel, normal tire pressures, and adjusted the gears for optimal top speed.  The rest of the setup parameters don't effect much in top speed tests, I think.

Thanks Bob
I hope you don't mind but I used your sorted data to update my own spreadsheet which was a combination of my own work & the spreadsheet found in the other thread http://srmz.net/inde...22

Now one can sort the data by mod & then by top speed, rpm, bhp or weight.

You can get it from the other thread.

Bob, if you ever consider extending your spreadsheet, how about adding a note showing which sound file each car uses? I think that would be very useful info for GPL tinkerers.

How did you find the values for advanced and basic trainer?
because to make the 1962 F2 we tested on a perfectly flat speed ring
and that gave us
65 advT    about 150 HP
65 basicT about 110 HP

we drive up to Vmax, we disengage and let the car stop .
With GPLRA  function , we analyze the replay and knowing the weight of the car can calculate the power of the engine

on a perfect flat speed ring (take Chroma Key) drive up to Vmax , disengage ( or neutral with shifter) and let the car stop , make a replay

with GPLRA  function read Gamma , the longitudinal acceleration at the moment you disengage

P = m x Vmax/3,6 x gamma x 9,81 x 1,06 / 745
or P = m x Vmax/3,6 x gamma x 9,81 / 745 with shifter

in this example , Vmax = 287 , m = 603 kg , Gamma = 0,425

then P = 284 HP ( cooper T79 , FPF 2,7L ; P=260 in GPL)
