That would be normally the problem for having the wrong skins.
Be sure to have applied the right driver.ini provided with the last version of the mod.
Anyway is not the number of the car but the name of the mip file.The original file is without number if i'm not wrong.
When you drop into the folder the mip used is that uotside nthe dat,if the others files are not compressed in the dat ,normally the program ask if you whant to overwrite.

In this case the alpine is in the brm slot so you need to use the skins the brm4.3do uses.
Which is brm4.mip for the main skin (ALPmain1.mip) and Themain2.mip as the mip for the other parts of the car (ALPmain2.mip)
I believe it's explained in this forum a number of times how GPL adresses skins.
It might help understanding how this works and ease installation of skins if you'ld invest time reading that.
