Maximum speed is now available to Can-Am'71 Ai, using Mod specific track files - one per track, to create a more realistic offline racing experience.

Each track file is tuned to approximate the laptime the real cars might have made, while giving a boost  to their Ai impersonators, on longer straights.

The Ai speed in this Mod varies with race length.  MAX has been tuned to run at INTERMEDIATE LONG, and I suggest using this to start.  GEM+ is able to adjust to a preferred race length - read  Instructions for further information.

While a perfect solution remains to be found to the problem, raised by unforeseen dynamics thrust upon GPL's physics engine, the hope is that MAX will allow users to experience, good competitive racing on tracks of all sizes.

Here are the remaining tracks, I've re-equipped for better speed.  After Zeltweg and Zolder67, I've added two extra to MAX out the total to 100.

Drivers will be able to experience improved racing at non-championship tracks.  Tracks improved will not include championship tracks, nor affect the Ai used by other Mods.   Fantasy can be fun.:)

The Ai drivers are holding a meeting prior to release, as some tracks are considered to be rather dangerous.

Maddog, Thanks very much for this - a problem though : in my download (tried twice) I only get tracks down to Enna (i.e 27 track folders) - is this right?

I was wondering if someone would notice. :)  Can-Am cars never turned a wheel on most of these GPL tracks, until now.  So to set their speed correctly, it's necessary to run some competitive laps.  The aim is to set each track Ai at a similar performance level.  This takes awhile.

I'm working through the tracks installed on my hard drive.  Next available will be tracks F - L .

I've started tuning on the letter M this week.  Here's Monza, with an example of the closeness of competition possible, after '71 Ai have been 'MAX'ed out.  For those unsure about Max this replay is a safe way to, 'Try before you buy.' :)

great sensations Martin . Those beasties entering Curva Grande at Monza is a thrilling  movie !

I asked the AIs to race at Monaco ! They answered they rather go on strike.They are under pressure of team managers.Repairs are expensive on Can Am cars .

Spectators that where lucky enough to be at first Lesmo in 1971 are still telling the story at home to their kids, on the way maddog entered and mastered the corner on first lap !!!! :up: :soapbox: :clap2: :pirateflag: :applause:

Thanks for the kind words and feedback.  But at Lesmo 1 with many AI waiting to attack, I was less skilled, and more scared! :woot:

Good reason for the Ai to be scared at Monaco.  If you stand next to one of the real cars, you will notice they are also very wide monsters.   Any problems to report from these Ai, guys?

I apologise for being late with an update, for tracks of S & T, but have recently been fully occupied with another project.  Their appearance rather than their behavior, with good progress made.  Much to do, but I'll return to Ai Max work shortly.  Expect to have the next update ready next month.
