:bravo:

Great stuff Olaf.

Tried them both on a bunch of rpy and this was a big step forward and a big improvement. No problems with the graphics in the mirrors now. Everything works smooth. Good job.

I dont know what the possibilities are within this patch but I hope you continue to develop it Olaf , it has great potential. We tried via gpltv to get some
on-screen race info for the live stream in the historic esports league but it doesnt really work as we have to window gpl and that makes the resolution way too low so the picture isnt good. Would it be possible to integrate something similar with this patch?

In any case thanks for yet another brilliant patch. :hat-tip:

Next step (and I think the last step of this patch) is ready. Now are two additional versions in the folder.
If you use on of this files (please use only one replaydirector file at the same time) the camera changes too:
You have the choice between TV1,Onboad, TV2
OR
Helicopter (if you have installed it as the rear suspention camera), Onboard and TV1.

The second version is maybe relevant for race comissionars.

I have seen you or Andre are using gpltv. Good idea.
This patch isn't suitable for this, but I have tried to prepaire pribluda for that. It was successful to display the leaderboard in replays, but I have founde many big problems:

1. All menus are flickering like the devil and the displays in replay screen (drivername, driver position laptimes and so on) don't work.
2. It seems to display the leaderboard (or other boards) he user of pribluda have to go to the track. If he doesn't do that only the caption will be displayed. It would be very stressful for the driver that creats the screen. After the moment gpl approvals the race he have to go to the track and back to replay screen before he go to the track with this race PC.

If you want try it I can prepaire pribluda for you, but I have no idea to fix 1.

I'm not sure if I got this right - so the focus is on a single car, usually the last positioned driver in such a close-racing group? If so, would it be possible to calculate an average position of all cars in this small group and thus focus the view on the whole combatting group instead of a single car?

EDIT:
I'm talking of TV1 and TV2, obviously...

I won't reinvent the wheel. I'm using only the normal gpl focus and camera, I switch only between that.
Most time the focus is set at the driver on the back of the two drivers with the smallest distance. That's all. It was difficult enough and has cost me a lot of time.

After some tests I should give an important hint:
For the moment use the patch only for saved replays.  In case of using in offline or online races gpl will crash after a while! (Edit 1.8.2018: This problem is fixed, please use version v2, link first post)
To make it usable for live races some transpositions are needed. After this transpositions I need some people to try it in online racing.

Good news are:
For saved replays it works like it should. I tried some replays - all worked without any problem.

Hi Olaf  , I just got back from a short vacation so havent tried the new patches yet. But great that they are here , again , good job man.

We can assist you in testing the patch to work in online \ livestream modus , not sure when Andrè is home again but we are most interested in using this patch for online streaming so that should be no problem.

Be back with more in a day or two..

Back

First of all it would be great to see the pridluba (or whatever its called) thing happen if its possible. But the flicker thing sounds kinda bad and if there is no apparent way around that then maybe its not worth the toil , either way up to you Olaf.

Tried the new tv patches and they worked kinda so and so for me. With the heli patch I got "rear susp" instead of heli view, prbobably missing something in my gpl folder or something. That angle only really works on the brabham and the lotus in my game. With the other cars all I see is the the rear wheel. But however I tried to imagine it being a heli view and in that respect it seemed really cool.  It shifted to onboard but only once to tv1 through 3 rpys in 36 fps. So there was very little tv1. Mainly between "heli\rear susp" and onboard at a 40/60 rate or thereabouts.

The other patch never changed from tv1 so Im not sure there might be some issue on my end here.

But these are magnificent patches Olaf so let us know when you need an online test and we will be happy to oblige.

Good news: Now the patch works for saved (and reloaded ) replays AND for races.
My hint from post 6 is no more relevant.

The patch is testet Offline. Online it's difficult alone. But I think it should work.

The heli_on_tv1 patch makes only sense if you have installed the helicopter camera instead of rear supention camera. I had installed it nine years before and unfortunately I can't remember where I had found it and what you have to do to install it.
If you don't have instaled heliocopter view please use tv1_on_tv2. The heli view is intended for race comissionars because the perspective is more objective I think.

The switch distances for camera changing are about 2metres, 20 metres and 200metres (for the first, second and third camera in the title of the respective patch). In closely spaced races maybe the third camera won't be choiced, but I have reduced the switch distance for the third camera a bit.

I think the patch is ready now for online/livestream test.

BR Olaf

About (pribluda) leaderboard view I'll think about sometimes, but I'm not sure that I'll find a practicable solution.
If the patch work like I think at least you see through the switching behind the drivers at which places the are because gpl dispayes the position of the drivers at the lap before.

You can use CarCamEdit to modify location of car cams, cam FOV/zoom, pitch, roll, yaw, etc.
So you can put the rear suspension cam anywhere you want.

Ok , how do I do this? Cant find anything about heli cam or cam edit so not sure where to start.

@ Olaf : We will use the large rpy font so info will be available during the stream and maybe somwehere down the line there will be a way to integrate more but for now this is a massive step in the right direction and its gonna lift the stream a lot. Making it a show worth watching will have to be our tasks as drivers.. ;)

Sorry, thought it would be easy to find...

Link to CarCamEditor

Used to modify replay cameras.
Raise one up, move it off a bit, point it at car and its heli-mode?
Might require compatibility mode, or not work at all?

Found in Utilities section at gpllinks.org

Thanks John, It seems that was it. But I still have no remembering - should I bother about Alzheimer disease?

What I forget to write: Please delete the old xml files to prevent that your gpl are crashing in races. The correct files are from the first of August and you find it in downloaded folder replaydirector_v2.

@Keyser: Yesterday I tried the pribluda leaderboard display again and I found it worked better I thought. So I put the two neccessary files and a readme in a folder and linked it in Request area (in Andres thread).

Absolutely magnificent stuff Olaf , cant thank you enough for this. Andrè is back from his vacation tomorrow and we will start testing this and getting the livestream ready for the first race in two weeks.
